anyone know of a utility that can actually repair a corrupt registry hive on 2k/xp box ? ive yet to find such an app it would have to be dos based to run in dos mode or recovery console mode

remember the reg is primarilay a device to stop you copying the os on to another PC.

as a warning to others...
I take it you don't have a repair disk
or a backup of the %windir%\repair folder
maybe even a pc with identical HDD controller you could copy it from
can you boot up from other hardware profiles or last known good ?

Unfortunately the reg is a blatent "all your files in one basket" type of thing..

will regclean work on an export of the reg file ??
