Its grand except for the city end terrace. Do we need that building right up against the pitch where a possible extra terrace or stand could go? Is this where the fat cats of the county board will eat their prawn sandwiches!

Could they not have whatever offices, etc up where the dressing rooms currently are even if meant building a 4/5 story building or would that not get through planning?

They should be maximising the very limited space by building up. I mean am i right in saying there are car parking spots right next to the pitch in the lower right corner of the plan view? Whatever about needing buses to be able to disembark players without mixing with public, surely the County board don't need to park their cars next to the pitch!

With some tightening up and common sense could easily acommadate an extra couple of thousand supporters!

My thoughts exactly. Or just put the county board HQ elsewhere!!

It comes down to planning permission. there was an issue with planning down that side of the ground. Where the road cuts in you can’t extend the terace down that corner. Another thing with Walsh Park, there is absolutely zero parking designated for team buses and match officials. Referees and players have to park on keanes road and walk in and out of the stadium with everyone else. they should be entitled to that seclusion on big match days at least. If they couldn’t do anything with that end of the ground I have no problem with having that facility. As much as it doesn’t look great on the eye

A very own Michael Ryan has called time on his run as Westmeath Manager. Although they didn't win any trophies he done a great job

I wonder will he try for the Waterford job again ?? Id be very surprised Tbh

The players that shafted him to get Derek in are still there and have even more influence over the panel than they did 5 years ago. There’s more chance of Michael Jackson getting the job than Michael Ryan.

    What players would they be?

There's more chance of Michael Jackson getting the job then anyone on here backing up what they say on here!

I’m not naming names. Plenty of articles around online that give a fair idea plus anyone with half a brain knows the players involved at the time.

Those players really left themselves down. Inexperienced Derek McGrath waiting in the shadows, now 5ys later after a miserable 45% win ratio with a very strong panel he's taking about coming back some day.

What time are the Westmeath lads arriving in Ballymac for the BBQ!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 592 ✭✭✭one world order

Read McGrath in the media alright, telling everyone he invited the players around for a BBQ. Says more about he's neediness to be liked. Would Cody persist with certain players when they are not performing because he's best buddies with them?

Cody has always had a great relationship with the KK players and often seen out with them for a few pints around Kilkenny. Don't believe all you read

Close games there with Dungarvan vs Lismore and Fourmilewater vs Roanmore the ties of the round, hard to call. Tallow and Mount Sion should win the other games.

If these were done at a CB meeting was there any news on the senior management position ??

Hearing some of the players don’t want Ken because of his opinions of the old regime while on the Sunday Game over the past while. Would love to know who do they want!

and rightly they should have a big say on who it is ??, they will be ones spending a huge amount of time for the year with that person/people

why is Brenden Cummins the outright favouirte for the job on PP ???. 5/6 now with Fergal Hartley at 5/1 and Sean Power 11/2. He has no expereince of being a manager other than being a Goalkeeping coach for the Kerry hurlers

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the bookies at this stage. They have no conrete news, and are playing rumours and analysing lays

Maybe he's just not the right man anyway. the noises from the Mount sion camp during his time in charge as manager weren't great . A bit out of his depth apparantly. And that's coming from a club where he holds legendary status and would back him to the hilt.

The players don't want Cummins as manager either apparently.

the committee who will decide who gets the job was announced on June 18th. It consists of PJ Ryan, Sean O'Regan, John Jackson and Pat Flynn. (the fabulous ****ing 4 of hurling knowledge) :o:o:o:o no ex players on the committee, no current player's etc etc. :o:o:o:o

Clubs are invited to forward names for consideration those who have expressed an interest in the position by Tuesday July 17th at 5pm.

I'm sure John Allen rang the boys up in Ballyduff Upper, Brendan Cummins rang the boys in St Mollerans and Martin Story came across the Passage East car ferry to register his interest with the boys in Furlong's Pub :o:o

you couldn't make this **** up! embarrassing stuff.

The committee can also invite others to join them in the search, I imagine one or two ex players will be involved. Could be one or two current as well or maybe they will just sound these players out rather than have then officially on the committee.

will you stop, none of those 4 should of been allowed near it. there is enough heat on the CB at present they know jack ****.

they should have appointed 4 people separate to the CB who are not club delegates etc. an example would be Shane Ahearne, Brick Walsh (if he has retired) Stephen Frampton and a consultant from a professional background that actually knows how to conduct and record the interview process.

I can only see PJ Ryan now, "now sir, do you like a short puck out or a long puck out" "right sir, sweeper or no sweeper?" Pat Flynn interrupts " Blur or Oasis"

Whats the issue with it? If what they say is true then Cullen has no merit or credibility in trumpeting on about how Waterford GAA denied his vision for a new stadium in Waterford.

And if what he said is true, should be easy for him to backup his claims and in turn destroy the credibility of their statement.

I fully support any organisation that publicly says Martin Cullen is full of it.

As much as people dislike Cullen, what he said on WLR was common knowledge around the town for the last 3 or 4 years, long before the new championship structure was introduced, Cullen made plenty of disasterous decisons in government but he is that waterford TD to have delivered anything major in the county, Phil Hogan wasnt long about making sure the cash went to KK

The county board are a joke, there is northing written down because they are too busy feathering there own nests to engage

The new manager is the biggest decison they have to make now and if they are not careful set this team back as far as they have the stadium
