Maguire would be an instant upgrade on Smalling and Jones

Not for me he wouldn’t. Both are better defenders than him imo.

He is better than all of our centre backs apart from bailly

I do think we could do better than him if we were to go foreign but I would still see him as an upgrade on the 2.

I think Smalling is so limited, especially when grabbing while defending set pieces and especially with VAR coming in more and more. Passing is still poor aswell.

Jones is Jones, grand as a backup but his injury record is woeful.

If we wanted Maguire we should have went for him last year.

    I'd far prefer Lascelles

    And Young with the other.

Also, Pickford having a fine tournament. Klopp should be all over that if he had any sense.

    Doesn't play for Southampton

When you look at all the Utd players in the tournament they have all been playing impressively

    Promising signs

In what world I are Everton going to sell their keeper, bought last summer, to Liverpool?

So exactly what a few in here had said would happen with Sporting players and their contracts, has happened..

Hard to see what grounds Sporting have, other than trying to save face after that joke of a president ruined them.

I’d say the issue would be about the contract with sporting itself.. They would probably be disputing that so when Wolves “signed” him it’s a breach of contract as the matter wasn’t resolved

It was always said they would have to prove just cause in court to cancel their contracts with the club.

So England, France and Belgium being in the WC semis means that Lingard, Rashford, Young, Jones, Pogba, Lukaku and Fellaini will be there until the end of the tournament and probably won't be back in pre season training until the week before the league starts........

Add to that Lindelof and Fred who are only going home this weekend.

Saying that City are just as badly affected.

Expecting a big season from Alexis, getting the summer off.

Yeah, I would worry we might get off to a slow start as we will be very depleted - would be expecting Martial & Sanchez to step up big time.

He had a sprained ankle so would not have been fit to play until at least the semi final/final I read somewhere. Doubt he wanted to leave early just in case he was needed if they got that far

I must be in the minority but I'd be happy enough to see England win it out.

Preference would be Belgium but I wouldn't begrudge England if they managed it.

Might have been discussed before, but with Ronaldo most likely heading to Juve, Manzukic to Utd most could likely be on the cards seeing as there was rumours a few weeks back
