I don't think this is the sort of "cultural enrichment" we voted for when we signed up to the EU.

Yet some people still wonder why the Brits Voted for Brexit.

Not even the worst Irish Criminals have ever committed a crime like this.

Drugs unit garda suffers acid attack at hands of heroin gang he's investigating

The officer received minor injuries to his face and hand at the start of last month and gang members separately turned up outside his child’s school.

A MEMBER OF a garda drugs unit was attacked with acid by members of a heroin gang he is investigating, TheJournal.ie understands.
The gang believed to be behind the attack has its own drug distribution network across the country.
The officer has been part of a group of gardai based in north Dublin which has been probing the activities of this criminal gang. The gang’s leaders are from Eastern Europe and investigations into their activities have been ongoing since 2015.
Sources have told TheJournal.ie that the man has received a number of threatening phone calls in the last few months. It is understood the Garda Representative Association (GRA), which represents rank-and-file members of An Garda Síochána, is aware of the threat to the officer’s life and has been offering him support.

I remember around '89 a Garda in Swords had petrol thrown on him and was set alight. Think he managed to come away with minor enough burns but couod easily have been much worse. Was headlines of the old Evening Press at the time.

    Scumbags be scumbagging.

While I don't want to make little of this crime, Irish criminals have done plenty worse than this.

Brexit was more a protest vote from the failures of movements such as globalization than those pesky foreigners

I don't think when people talk about ''cultural enrichment' they are referring to other Europeans

There was a stage in the 70s and 80s where dissident republican bank gangs would open fire on unarmed Gardai.

This was a regular occurence all over the country and ended up being the primary reason for the introduction of the ERU.

You'll always get scumbags, the difference is that a Pole will more than likely be integrated within a generation into Irish society, for someone further afield it may never happen. There's no clash between Irish and Polish culture. I like Muslims, best friend is Muslim, but there's a big difference.

    Indeed they did.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Joseph_Morrissey

"Sergeant Morrissey, alone and on foot, pursued the raiders. As he caught up with them a shot was fired and he fell to the ground grievously wounded. One of the gunmen stood over him and at point blank range shot the Sergeant dead".

A few East Europeans would be ok but we have far too many of them here.

They are even building their own supermarkets here that doesn't sound like integration to me.

If they're hanging around outside the kid's school, I know I'd want the family to be put into hiding.

Is witness protection a thing in Ireland or have I been watching too much American TV?

I would have thought that someone setting up a business to serve an underserved section of the marketplace would be something to celebrate no?

Its keeping money within their own community when they could be supporting indigenous Businesses.

It's lucky nobody ever thought of opening an Irish bar anywhere in the world.

Would they be avoiding taxes and the like? If so, maybe they should be burned or something! Are Irish people banned from these shops? You have me convinced now, these individuals are pure evil

Unless there is a Polish power plant they've built secretly among other things, I'm pretty certain that they do support indigenous businesses. Also, they're allowed to spend their money how they see fit. They also pay taxes, which benefits all of us.

Honestly, of all the arguments you could choose...

Considering there's an Irish bar in every city in the world, its a grave hypocrisy telling polish they cant open shops here.

If the owners of the businesses are legally resident in the state, then those businesses are indigenous, by definition.
