And in response to that sanchez was rubbish for the most part and was playing most of the time

Sanchez is a far better player that is why he was playing most of the time.

With a pre season and a few months settling in Sanchez should be back to his best this season.

Faizebuke just told me that this day 9 years ago we signed this little lad.

I will never, ever get tired of seeing this picture.

Should post that in the Liverpool thread, just for ****s and giggles!

To be honest lads I'd do it on other places where you can interact fairly and have a laugh but what's the point in posting something like that on pool thread in boards it's not the same as other places so the best thing to do is stay away and leave them off to themselves.

On the right wing debate or adnan discussion and I k ow most were messing but if we were going to take a punt.on a right winger id prefer do it with trying to convert rashford give him time to adapt.

He has been largely ineffective but if we were going gamble on roght wing id prefer do it with a player we know who has the right attitude but saying that the focus has to be on a proper right wing signing without that I really don't think we will push on from last year.

I'd sell Martial and buy a proper right winger, along with a left back (Sandro).

I'd look for the left side width and creativity to come from Sandro and Pogba.

Right side width would come from New Right Winger and (sigh) Valencia.

The 'Left Wing' position would then rotate between Sanchez and Rashford with Rashford also rotating with Lukaku in the central spot. So you'd have Sanchez or Rasford coming from a free left postion off Lukaku, or Sanchez off Rashford.

In my formation the left sided player would be a free attacker and the right sided player would be more of a wide player/winger than a third striker.

Mitch I agree with you I'd sacrifice martial for a proven right winger too i was talking in terms of adnans name been mentioned I wouldn't bring someone like that in for the right id prefer adapt what's here already.

If a LB and a RW aren't bought it will be a major disappointmentand, imo United will already be playing for second place.

Not many world class RW out there at the moment but its imperative one is signed.

Bale is the only one that fits that bill but all talk has subsided since Madrid appointed the new manager. Ih hes a no go you have to take a punt on a decent young RW I think, the likes of Bernard/Martins/Pavon/Lozano.

If we play 4-3-2-1 we dont need right ot left wingers, just need excellent full backs who can cross the ball

I see papers now saying Luke Shaw wants to try earn a spot rather than moving this summer. Not sure if true or not, and depends what club wants too.

The way these things go, don't you just know he will show up fit as a fiddle before pre-season and spark off the debate again.
Regardless of his fitness he hasn't had a great relationship with José, so now depends if José really isn't a fan of his, or is doing so to try force a reaction, that will depend on how he responds so too.

Ive always wanted Shaw to fight for a place, unfortunately we are at the point where he has to settle for second fiddle. United need an established LB now

Should we go for Tierney folks?? If he goes to everton and does well we'll pay a lot more than we would now.. Could offer Shaw on loan to Everton to ease the blow and it gets Shaw a full season of football??

no point us loaning Shaw out - sell him now if that is a thought. Out of contract next summer, we'd be loaning him out to lose him on a free next summer. Just sell.

Why would we be looking to ease the blow? For Everton? For Shaw?

Agh balls, thought we had shaw for longer than that. My bad
Was suggesting we sign Tierney and let Shaw go on loan to them for a season as they've bid £25m for him (Tierney) already.
But if Shaw is in his last year its null and void ;)

I just think "taking a punt" is going to be so risky this season. We don't have the time to indulge a kid. Really think it should be looking for a 27-30 year old who has some level of consistency at a good level.

See Sky are saying Barca have offered 50m for Willian. :/

They were rejected last week weren't they. Noway will they sell Willian for any sort of realistic money.

Who else is there that fits your description? Seems to be a massive shortage of rw players.

Mertens has had a pretty good world cup on the right wing for Belgium, would be a decent shout and bring a bit of experience for 2 -3 seasons

Reportedly had a very low release clause too, didn't he?

Do think he might be a fourth or fifth choice though.

Shame about Mahrez off to City, cause he'd have been a good one.

Mertens is an excellent player but his best position is CF and that's where he has mainly operated the last few seasons.

was 28mill but apparently increased to 60mill this summer

I agree with yaba while mertens has been decent in world cup he has had his best couple season's as cf for napoli and unless he did actually have a very small release clause he is 31 years old now too so he ain't a solution at all.

Just for a 'goof', I checked online to see who are considered the best right wingers around.

According to this site - citing Fifa....

Rank Player Club Overall Rating Post-update Rating
    1 Lionel Messi FC Barcelona 93 -
    2 Gareth Bale Real Madrid 89 -
    3 Ángel Di Maria PSG 85 -
    4 Willian Chelsea 84 -
    5 Pedro Chelsea 84 -
    6 José Callejón Napoli 83 -
    7 Salah Liverpool 83 85
    8 Carlos Vela Real Sociedad 82 -
    9 Suso AC Milan 82 -
    10 Sterling Man City 82 84

    Unrealistic.
    Yeah.
    Nope.
    Maybe
    Nope.
    Yeah.
    No Chance.
    Nope.
    Nope.
    Nope.

Malcolm is a right winger people have spoken about previously, think Inter have just signed him. Mahrez off to City is very likely. Honestly, off the top of my head I have feck all idea who we should go for on the right wing.
