Well lads, it's not often (if ever) you get to blow your own trumpet, but here goes...

... really pleased and even more surprised to achieve 1st place in the wildlife round of Amateur Photographer of the Year 2018... not expecting a single point in any of the other 6 or 7 rounds but couldn't care less!

If you see the magazine this week you'll see that somehow, even after registering with Photocrowd using my Cork address and stating in the description and GPS tag of the photo that it's Ballyandreen in County Cork, they still managed to default my location to Dublin in the article!

Congrats redape! I remember that photo too in the thread, plus winning (i think!) the potw. Great and unique image and well deserved.

Thanks Wailin, by coincidence was up at the girlfriend's Mother's in Glasnevin last weekend and she has a couple of young foxes in the garden in training for next year!

Congrats redape99. That's some achievement (and shot). I've entered a few times myself (not this year - hate the platform) and even managed to come 5th overall after 10 rounds.

But I never managed the honour of winning a round!

Again, well done and a cracking shot!

Thanks Adrian, 5th overall is great in a competition with such varied rounds.
