I had a mobile contract (mobile broadband) from meteor that was ported over to Eir.
this was eventually cancelled earlier this year.
because of the 30 day cancellation period and feb being a short month (30days > 28 days) I was charged another month and was due almost a full refund on this shown through a negative bill to me by email.
however this was never refunded to my bank account (even though eir have my bank details from the direct debit).
I finally called up about this and it will now be paid (seems like a way to hope the customer forgets and other companies just refund you).

However, I was not paid by my ten euro "refundable deposit" in this amount.
    How is this right?

I have the old (now not live) mobile number and pin if necessary.
