    Hi

Does anyone know approx what would/should be the rate for being on call after hours in a transport logistics company.
It's a small company, nothing in contracts as this is new.

Duties would be to be available for customers and drivers after 5pm mon-fri and weekends, Mon to Sun on. All done on phone and laptop

    Thanks

Hey Sir Oxman, I've sent you a PM.
    Are you receiving them?

So you work your normal hours and then are expected to be on call pretty much all the time outside of that??

    Seems extreme.

I'm not in your industry but we get a weekly rate for being on call regardless of any calls being received.

If we recieve a call its time and a half between 6pm and midnight and double time from midnight to 8am. Double time all day on sundays and bankholidays. Working On call on a bank holiday gives you a day in lieu. Answering the phone is considered an hour overtime but really if its just a quick question you may not claim for it but if you have to log on at all or do anything that disrupts you day or night it goes down as OT.
