Will have to work on his defence a lot. Gets tagged quite a bit against a lower level of fighter.

Bader KOed King Mo in fifteen seconds in the final Bellator Heavyweight QF.

Yeah that's disappointing alright. If it was the UFC you'd have people falling over themselves trying to get tickets but BAMMA always put on great entertaining cards.

No offence to you but it always irks me a bit when people say things like this, as if it's a knock on the mma following people in Ireland. Of course the UFC is going to be more popular, it's the top level of the sport. It's like being annoyed that the premiership is more popular than the league of Ireland. There shouldn't be any knock on the followers of either level of the sport.

Yeah I understand that, but the quality of fighter on show has little difference. When the likes of the UFC or Bellator come here they use plenty of local talent(Ireland, UK, Europe) to fill the card. You get maybe one or two big names but that's it.

Have a look at some of last night's fights if you haven't already (excellent quality and entertainment) and at significantly less than it costs to buy a ticket when the UFC come to town.

Your ref with the mad Viking beard was in the fight longer than King Mo there in Bellator HW GP. Going to go mental if Chael manages to beat Fedor then fluke something against the winner of Mitrione and Bader!

Jon Fitch looks amazing for a 40 year old. Paul Daley put in a dismal performance apart from the end of the first round, to be fair Fitch was working the whole time, but all Daly's ranting as if he was somehow hard done by was beyond pitiful.

Bellator are actively seeking a replacement, but I can't see it happening.

Although Neil Magny only got a new opponent for UFC Liverpool a few days ago.

A slight difference in the talent pools available to the two organisations at each weight class :)

True but even then the UFC went and recruited from a different organisation.

Bellator could do the same, I'm sure the Cage Warriors HW champ wouldn't turn it down.

Switched on Bellator 200 and first fight I see is an 11 second KO :D

Been a good prelim card too. Hate watching MMA with my Dad. An 11 second TKO is 'thuggery' but absorbing 120+ head strikes under 'Queensbury Rules' with huge gloves is grand

I can't tell if Chalmers is very talented or his opponents are absolute dog muck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,665 ✭✭✭Mehaffey1

Out of my experience but very quick, under 4 seconds, to get to a point where neither arm could defend against a submission?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

Say what you want about the quality of Chalmers opponents but he looked pretty accomplished there. Dealt well with being taken down, took the knee to the face like a champ and then choked his opponent out like a boss!

Step up in quality is called for now.

That was some fight mother of God.

Rickles claimed he was going to take MVP's heart. The complete opposite happened. Can't believe I just seen a fighter give up like that and tell the ref to call the fight.

    MVP looked ridiculously good.

MVP literally put a hole in his face with that finishing punch haha

Ufc were mad to let Mousassi leave. Pure class

I thought for an ISKA champ that guys striking didn't look up to much.

He's one of the smoothest, most natural, relaxed fighters you'll ever see. A string of huge wins on his CV. At this rate UFC will be the only belt he hasn't had. The Moose is a class act.

    Bellator champ
    DREAM champ in two weights
    Strikeforce champ
    Cage Warriors champ
    Victories in PRIDE and UFC

    Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight.

Some savage difference in production values between the UFC and Bellator.

Only 1 screen in the whole arena, stage lights were left on blinding half of the venue for long spells, fairly disorganised in general, pretty sure they announced Charlie Ward's weight as 155 and his opponent as 185 (might have heard that wrong).

Even on the concourse they had barely any merchandise and they don't even do programs.

Fairly entertaining night but I do find that Bellator (probably deliberately) stack the undercard with complete mismatches. Loads of first round finishes last night and guys who were completely mismatched. Makes them look good for having lots of highlight reel finishes but if you look a little closer it's more a case of a lack of quality.

As I say though, still mostly enjoyable. But in a small town local card kinda way.

Mostly enjoyable being the word BTW, the girls fight was absolute muck and Phil Davis was up to his old boring tricks before that last round.
