As a Yes voter even I admit PK is being dreadfully biased. He pretty well scolded Steen there.

Although Ive often thought about putting Steen over me knee for a good scolding myself. I could swim in her eyes but I hate the cold hearted sow. Im as conflicted as the Bull Mick when a few quares sashay into his bar...

Not sure he is tbh. She's just not being given the latitude she was given previously.

He's there to chair the debate, and part of that is ensuring they both get their arguments across.

The ratio of time at the back end of the show will be about 80:20 for the Yes and No speakers. Very foolish. They are not programmed to a steady debating style. Used to badgering and forcing their views.

Good to see Ms Steen hold her own here. No side doing well here.

So so so many people still don't understand that.
Once again, thanks for telling us nothing.
What abortion restrictions are we voting for? I didn't ask what article of the constitution will replace, I asked what will replace overall.
Hard luck on the failed nitpick.

I don't agree. He knows his stuff and is simply being rational and not allowing spoof. His questioning is spot on.

    What's with Mullen's vest?
Did anyone tell him it's summer, there's hot studio lights?
Wouldn't like to be standing near him.

**** me if he didn't put her in her box, I think there's more gone on behind the scenes with t his one and kennys having none of it.

I can see her walking off now at some point. what about the No siders outside the hospitals screaming at expectant mothers and showing ultra graphic photos.

The lack of coherent arguments by the No campaign are being exposed badly tonight.

He said abortion is not a treatment for suicidal ideation.

This argument has been killed a million times now. Why should you vote for people to be allowed to choose to do things you think are wrong? It makes no logical sense.

It. Is. None. Of. Your. Business.

I don't care what you think is wrong.

The women carrying dying children could give two sh!ts what you think is wrong.

It's still logical that abortion rates here will increase as people who travel abroad will have their abortion here.

Today, abortions are highly restricted and low. The numbers are bound to increase when made legal.

You wouldn't count it that way though - it wouldn't make any sense

Is Ronan Mullen a failed Priest?

He's a former politician too-wife is a Barrister and will be on Ivan and Matt later.

Michael Harding was excellent and very moving. Fair play to him.

Do you think that's been the case through the whole debate?
Could he be digging a hole for himself?

None! We are not voting for abortion! We are voting to get rid of the 8th amendment. That's it. We will not get a vote on the abortion. We will be able to lobby.

Yeah I'd agree with that. So depends on how figures are twisted if they include those who travel or don't.

At least those who travelled will be able to do it here, rather than facing a daunting journey.

The numbers will certainly increase, on paper at least. Smuggled pills will now be available from GPs and therefore will show up in stats.
There will be long dramatic columns about it from the Iona tribe.

steen says women need support and yet if a raped battered wife came to her she'd say , carry the child and stay with the abuser!! she doesn't believe in divorce or abortion!! yeah way to go supporting the fellow less fortunate women, she sniggers in private and calls social abortion a working class culture I bet.

    Frank McNamara. That's his name.

I’m sorry but I found that woman from the No side whose baby had FFA insufferable.
A Yes vote will not have had any effect on the decision she made.
It will not effect any future women who want to carry their FFA baby to term - they will still be allowed to do that.
You would think she’d have compassion for fellow mothers in a position similar to hers and respect them to make their own decision in such heartbreaking circumstances.

I wonder how she’d feel if she was forced to be induced when she got the diagnosis, against her will, instead of being allowed to carry to term like she wanted to.
There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to this situation.
The lack of empathy was astounding.

I found out today that Maria homeschools her four children, I wonder why this is?

Are the mainstream schools not good enough or not religious enough?

Will the No campaign ever realise that abortion won't be compulsory if passed.

Normally don't like Pat Kenny but think he is doing very well tonight in terms of ensuring equality. The NO campaign will probably not have time for a closing statement.

I think of all groups involved in this campaign, that TFMR have the most eloquent of speakers - each and everyone of their representatives have spoken clearly, calmly, rationally and logically. No dramatics or hysterics. I think Jennifer spoke very well earlier in the show.

I don't agree with the NO vote but still have to admire Maria Stein on her debating skills - she is their best asset. Ronan Mullen does them more harm than good with some of his comments.
