Lock screen using fingerprint?

Is there a built in method to lock the screen using fingerprint?

I like the unlock feature, but bit of a hassle to reach around for the power button to lock when holding phone one-handed.

I see a few apps, but would prefer native if possible.

    Have Android 8.0

What device and rom are you using?

I have that feature with xposed + GravityBox module <<< [Rooted].
^^^ On Redmi Note 3 LOS 14.1 Nougat.

As you said there is apps, which may or not work depending on device/rom.

Pretty recent device and not much discussion on XDA yet for it.

You can find what version of Oreo, your may have by looking at your about section in settings.

You will probably need an app for fingerprint gestures and/or some launchers have double tap screen to turn off.

If you're rooted fingerprint swipes on the play store can do it. I use it to do other things with my fingerprint.

It has an option to put the phone to sleep, which should lock it too.(says requires root, and prompted me to grant access when I tried it)
