    Yeah I thought it was very easy. Mostly set up to help returned wounded war vets who were too poor to pay for their own ongoing medical costs. At least thats what I always thought of when thinking why the NHS was set up.

    Yes, a fairly standard history question for a British quizzer, similar to asking someone here the decade for the Treaty, or the one where we joined the EEC.

    You mean the lu part of the two words? Complete coincidence, the two latin words have no closer relationship than any other word starting with lu. You might as well include lubrication in the mix!
