Will Toyah and Eva be outed regarding the child? I think Carla signed complete ownership of the factory to Aidan so is there a chance he made a very last minute change to his will leaving the factory and whatever cash he had to the child for when she is grown?

I think Aidan was the only other person who knew Eva was pregnant? They musnt do phn visits in the UK.

Whoever said about Eva selling the flat..you could be right. I can't remember when aidan moved into the current flat so. It must have been round the time Carla gave him money for the factory.

Pretty sure that he got his own flat recently after he got back on his feet (financially at least), but not sure whose.

I noticed that he hadn't bothered unpacking anything, that being another one of the several subtle indicators that was shown.

He bought the flat off Dev I thought? When he was with Eva - twas part of her plan after finding out bout Maria!! But she gave him back the keys ?? Could be wrong

For me Johnny, Eva and David were the stars of that episode. Great acting by all

Daniel came very close as well, Thought it was great the way they brought him in and his reaction to what happened and how close it was for him

Michelle and Toyah were dire and Leanne wasn't great either

I think he’s on compassionate leave due to the untimely death of his daughter.

He's being in it recently, how could u forget the whole Pickles getting a walk storyline:). Had forgotten about his real life daughter

Didn’t like Gail’s monologue though. Was like something out of the Joey Tribiani Acting Class.

Agreed..I know others here liked it. I hated it. Of course it was used as a vehicle to show all the various characters telling others the news but they could have played a song and it would have been only half as cringeworthy. Otherwise I really did love the episode.

Well done to everyone in Corrie, a very powerful episode. My heart broke for Johnny. I actually felt sick when he rocked up to Aidan's flat, calling out to him to get up and chattering on, oblivious. Eva played a blinder too, the whirlwind of emotions she'll be going through now. Loved the way they showed reactions from all the different characters, the grief and the shock and disbelief. Daniel is always excellent.

And I love how cleverly they tied it in with David's story. I teared up when he finally confessed to Shona about his rape. Another standout performance from him.

On a side note, I like how they've taken us from "Oh poor Toyah, so sad she can't have a child of her own" to "Take that baby off her, the aul cow!" in just a few months :-)

That was one excellent hour of television. I loved how they showed the spectrum of responses from people thinking what they could have done to help Aidan or spot the signs, Eva, Maria and Sophie picking apart their last time seeing him for clues, people like Kate and Beth calling him selfish or making it about themselves, Daniel, Roy and David reflecting on their own experiences with suicide, Gail desperately worried about her own son, Jenny trying to obfuscate without any other plan to respond, and Johnny totally shutting down. I'm so happy they left out most of the cartoon characters like Dev, Moira and the Appletons, and refrained from any hollow preaching from Ken, Liz or Rita, Gail's speech as they montaged the news spreaidng was perfect.

As someone who, like Daniel, knew a friend of a friend who has had these dark thoughts and can look back at them from a somewhat better headspace now, I thought the whole episode was handled just right.

Also I'm not ashamed to admit I choked up at parts, no actual tears, so far only Hayley's final scenes managed that :o

I thought Daniel was talking about himself as he and also Adam attempted it if I remember correctly?

    Pickles :pac:

Maybe the had that dogwalking story prerecorded for when they needed a killer A-plot at the ready after they failed to strike gold with the marine biologist saga.

I thought that episode was a very hard watch. Johnny's reaction was stomach churning - so sad but after about 15 minutes I kind of felt like it was overdoing the reactions. Not that, that wouldn't be true to life it's just I wouldn't be watching on normally. When it got to Eva recounting the story of a happier Aidan I had to switch off :(

But I watched the remainder today and thought the scene with Gail talking was remarkable, touching but far better handled. So relieved David spoke out but sorry in someways that it took this to make him.

Thing is. When he and Alya were trying to get the factory back up and running, she was terrific. She was running the meetings when his heart wasn't in it, organising them in the first place, if I remember correctly? So youd think she would be his natural choice of beneficiary. Then Carla comes back and all of a sudden Alya is a dimwit who can't add and will run the place in to the ground?

Unlikely, it's not relevant, and given that they consulted with the samaritans, and the Samaritans reporting guidelines advise against focus on the method, I'd say it's likely that Corrie decided to omit this bit from the story.

When I know a few people who have killed them selves it’s always the first question always how did he or she do it

That’s just the reality of it, I didn’t mean to cause offense :)

I though the theme was suggesting he slashed wrists in bathtub. People do that to contain the blood, one last thoughtful thing to do for who even found them.

I suppose it can glorify or glamourise suicide if a 'successful' method is depicted.

I'm not offended that you'd ask it's just my response to it is that it's not necessary to know.

Oddly enough, I didn't even think about how Aidan did it.

Can't believe who he is leaving the factory to....more brutal acting to look forward to

I assumed he hung himself because Johnny said when asked by the ambulance woman that he moved the body thinking he could save him, would he try drag him out of a bath?
