Had the last 2 nights' episodes taped, just watched. Some observations:
    1. TV3 continuity announcer said on Sunday's show that they were going "live" to Jeremy Clarkson - I guess she means it's same time as ITV?
    2. The questions are mildy harder at the <£1,000 mark (or so it seems)
    3. The calibre of the contestants seems to be lacking. I think I read somewhere that they did casting for these - seems they didn't allow for intelligence here?
    4. Clarkson is doing really well, I'd happily watch this at any time with him...
    5. People still balls up their use of the lifelines. Get rid of the ask the audience early. NEVER say what you're thinking if you think it's one of 2 before you go 50-50. Don't ask Clarkson a question about art. C'mon people, it's not rocket science...

Do you mean they should get rid of it early, or they are getting rid of it too early?

If the former, I agree - I don't think Ask the Audience is much use from 32,000 onwards, unless it's a pop culture type question

50/50 used to not be random (very sneaky) but they changed it to random from a point (early 00s I think). It's still silly to say exactly what you're thinking though I agree - but then again I've never been on the hotseat myself, I'm sure the pressure would have an effect

One of the major criticisms during the decline in the mid 00s of the first edition, was the contestants were mainly 40+ quiz anorak males.

This series it seems there's more photogenic and 'audience friendly' contestants (as in average joe soaps the audience will relate to more)

The former. You want it for a relatively easy question that you just don't happen to know, rather than a proper stumper that will have everyone guess.

Best use of ask the audience is when you get 90% of them giving same answer.. Should be the first to go...

And never use the phone a friend or ask the host if you have the 50-50 hanging around.

Really enjoying Jeremy on the show.
I think if I was really stuck having already used ATA on an earlier question, I would do 50 /50 first before PAF, especially if having to use both on the one question as It would leave the friend with only two options.

Pleasantly surprised by JC. He’s doing a decent job.

Just commission a new series and give Clarkson the gig..... He's nailed it.

Getting tired of the repetitive crap though especially when over explaining the lifelines stuff and the “you’re here to play for a million pounds aren’t you?”, “you haven’t won enough to get home” jokes.

    He’s good though!

I knew it was St Jude as I'm online.

I think he got confused and meant to say St Jude.

A celeb special with Hammond and May as contestants would be very funny

Funny as Jeremy told him he would have heard it had it been his name, that he would have people telling him that multiple times, yet he still goes for it.
    WTF.

Why do they insist on the “I’m not wearing an ear piece, I don’t see the answer” crap when he is doing the ‘Ask Jeremy’ bit!

Hague retired at the 2015 election, IIRC. Noticeable in UK quiz shows such as Pointless than contestants do worse in politics questions than I suspect Irish quizzers would on similar questions.

This one is annoying. Answer the questions. Less of the waffle.
