The Southern passage past the torch is quite short, before it swings east again. Several alcoves have been cut out of the wall here in similar fashion to what Stufur has previously seen.

Stufur brings the torch close the nearest alcove and has a look.

    At the Stairs:

As Webby examines the stairs, an elf comes flying through what appeared to be sheer rock. She rolls down the stairs and lands gracefully beside him.

3 Ornate pillars within, carved from sheer marble.

Stufur examines the pillars closely, for writing, or marks on the floor indicating they can be moved.

No markings save for a crude arrow pointing north, back the way he had travelled.

Stufur had heard how Uncle Saeros died in a place like this. Any path could be lethal. He is ensure if the arrow is a warning or an old piece of graffiti without meaning anymore.

He decides to continue past the turn and go East.

With the light of the torch, he can see the passage again winds South up ahead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,558 ✭✭✭✭Fourier

Stufur begins to get nervous, far separated now from the others, but his curiosity gets the better of him. He pushes South.

This time the corridor is a little longer - about twice as long as the previous turns, but again, Stufur can see it winding east yet again by the light of his torch.

    Stufur stands full of fear.

    "Okay....breath Stufur...."

He swallows and pushes East again.

As Webby examines the stairs, an elf comes flying through what appeared to be sheer rock. She rolls down the stairs and lands gracefully beside him.

Meera rises to her feet and looks around to get her bearings. She stares intently at the halfling and draws the dagger.

Webby, distracted by the elf dropping down the stairs forgets about his party for a moment. He turns to the elf "I suppose you are another among those accused of murdering the king... Welcome elf we..uh..."

Webby hastily looks around, as he now realises, with the comotion he may have lost sight of the rest of his party.

Webby feels dispair at the though of losing his companions and hastily states "Friend or Foe elf...? I am running and would prefer not to have blade in my back... luck is not on my side already"...

Hesitantly he turns away from the elf looking onto the east direction, where remembered seeing his party walk to earlier.

Stufur hears a click and feels a whoosh of air.

He attempts to sidestep the trap but stumbles, trips and falls directly in it's path.

The scythe catches him around the midriff, slicing his stomach open.

He falls to the floor, just avoiding the second swing as he collapses.

He will bleed out and die in 5 minutes.

Meera relaxes slightly when she sees the halfling turn his back on her. An enemy would never do that. 'Apologies halfling, it seems we are in the same boat. I did come through the arena but didn't listen to what the annoying human was saying as it didn't interest me. Are you alone here? My name is Meera.' She slips the dagger up her sleeve.

"No time elf, I will fill you in on the way"... he says as he starts trotting away. Webby waves the elf over and points in the east direction. "My party went over this way, there are a few of us... accused of killing the king and now plaything in this hellish labyrinth".

Webby picks up the pace but turns his head to the elf and says "Larger numbers are safer after all. This goes double for halflings" as he waves the elf over another time.

Meera walks beside the trotting halfling. She doesn't need to run to keep up.

Webby inspects the way to the east, careful in his aproach and on the lookout for his party.

Meera inspects the way forward for traps.

"Good thing you joined elf, we will be joining my fellowship, Brutha, Stu and Stufur... I think... I think...they went this way?"

Webby seems unsure where everybody is... but is not deterred as he keeps marching on...

Webby sees the same alcove on the north wall of the east corridor, and can just about make out the passage way turn south. The rest of the party is congregated along the east corridor.

No traps that Meera can see.

"There! the passage way down south... they must have gone there... there is nowhere else!"...

Webby makes his way down the passage.

OOC: Pausing there until the rest are online. Give you a chance to save your party member... if you want to that is. :P

Lalwende tumbles to the bottom of the stairs, her natural grace making for a landing more acrobatic than its clumsy beginnings might have suggested. Her pack is not so lucky, spilling it's contents - a spell book, a quill and a vial of ink that mercifully doesn't shatter - onto the floor.

She finds herself in a dark corridor. To the south she can see a flickering torchlight and what might be two, maybe three figures silhouetted against it.
It's dark in her immediate vicinity, but her fey ancestry affords her some ability to see that there's also a passage leading east.

Lalwende picks up her items and puts them away in her pack. Looking around with her infravision she scans the East passage first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,392 ✭✭✭✭Professor Moriarty

Seeing nothing of interest Lalwende decides to check out the South passage. Drawing her dagger, she approaches the figures under the torchlight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 673 ✭✭✭The Dungeon Master

To the east she can just make out an alcove on the north wall before the passage recedes into darkness. She called hear echoes of footsteps and hurried whispers.

In approaching the eastern branch, she has also gotten closer to the figures to the south, catching snatches of conversation.

Ooc : scroll up and read them. I'm not your butler! either way you go, you're paused waiting for the others. But welcome back :)

Lalwende spots a little nook and decides she'll rest there until there are further developments.
