Netflix really seems to have bought big into Korean TV and film. Busted! is Netflix first Korean variety show. Described as a detective variety show.

Has anyone heard about the new film from the director of Train to busan? (its called psychokinesis) due to be added soon

If your not expecting much its enjoyable enough but with the expectations high based on the director previous outing "Train to Busan" and a very talented female lead in Shim Eun kyung its a bit of a let down.

The actions scenes are good but the plot is nothing really new. Baddie developers uses gangsters to evict residents and tear down neighbourhood, absent father discovers superpowers. Sounds like a mashup of two 80's Hollywood movie plots. The only unique part is that Jung Yu mi(pregnant lady in Train to Busan) gets to play her first baddie.

I saw it recommended here a while ago but Operation Odessa is great. The characters involved are very likeable and one or two stories they told about the whole escapade were hilarious.

There's been so many great documentaries and shows about that particular era stemming from Florida and the cartel activity there during the time.

    Gave up on The Alienist.

F@cked up characters and even more f@cked up plot. Makes you wonder how people who think like that are taken seriously.

On episode 3 of Lost in Space. Such light relief compared to the above.

I'd say the opposite to you. Lost in Space was such a disappointment. It looked great but I didn't give a toss what happened to them. The Alienist was excellent, grim but intelligent and gripping with really good characters. I think it's my favourite show of the year so far.

Would it make sense to renew it? It's a pretty self contained story. I don't think I bother watching a second series tbh, it kind of unravelled a bit at the end for me.

Basically sums up the show for me.
    Wouldn't watch season 2 either.

Men Behaving Badly arrives the 1st. I don't ever remember watching it way back when but it had a strong following at the time. They seem to be adding more and more Brit-com shows at the moment although there's still only the first 3 seasons of Only Fools and the specials which kind of disappoints.

I watched the full series of Happy a few weeks back, it is brilliant.

Evil Genius: The True Story of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist arrives the 11th of May. I cant find much about it online but its from the makers of The Staircase and the story itself sounds really Bizarre so I hold out hope it might be good.

I'd say the opposite to you. Lost in Space was such a disappointment. It looked great but I didn't give a toss what happened to them. The Alienist was excellent, grim but intelligent and gripping with really good characters. I think it's my favourite show of the year so far.

I finished the Alienist last night and, I must say, I really didn't want it to finish. The casting is top notch.. Daniel Brühl is a brilliant Kreizler. I read the books years ago and thought there is no way they will get the depth, the darkness, the edgy historical feel of 1890s New York. They came very close.. hope they make more with the same quality and depth. I would recommend the books too, really good.

Lost in Space, I have to finish watching.. but am losing interest. They are dragging out the plot and the mad Doctor annoys the hell out of me. She is a bit OTT and, as a result, the story doesn't run as smoothly as it should and the characters are not convincing. Anyone else think it ridiculously glossy?

For that to become the given identity of women is a profoundly disabling notion."

I finished it with the kids the other night. Enjoyed how it finished up in the end. The end of the series actually makes the whole thing feel like a prequel to explain how they got lost in space. The Doctor is a confusing character because it feels like the screenwriters were at a lost as to how to shoehorn her into the family dynamic. The doctor in the original series was a very camp and devious, cowardly man, which was essentially a portrayal of the stereotypes of homosexuals at the time. Something that wasn't going to work for modern tastes.

It starts off quite slow and the initial dynamics within the family are all a bit clunky but it does get better as it progresses.

Watched Carrie last night. Never seen it before.

Strange movie, but kind of enjoyable at the same time.

Started watching Person of Interest the other night with the OH. It's like a mix of a few cheesy 80s action shows. The lead actor can't act but the character is shít cool. It's so bad it's good kind of vibe :pac:

I gave up on it about half way into season 1 when it was on RTE as it was so cheesy. I've since read that it really gets going not long after I abandoned it and there seems to be unanimous phrase for it so I intent to get back to it and see what the fuss is about.

I actually give it more credit than that, especially the later series. I don't think it's bad at all. Final series still isn't on Irish Netflix by the way.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Are we ever likely to get the final season?

I'm on the third season of Gotham at the moment and really enjoying it. E4 are currently showing the 4th season but was told it should arrive on netflix come October sometime. Never a show id really considering watching but the villain's are all well cast especially Robin Taylor as penguin and Camren Bicondova as Cat girl, I nearly gave up after episode 8 or 9 but gets so much better when they decide to ditch the episode of the week format for more story and character arcs.
