Finally got around to watching Weiner last night. It's a fantastic documentary following Anthony Weiner's disastrous 2013 campaign for Mayor of New York as he tries to recover from one sexting scandal before being plunged into another one.

It's a truly captivating watch even if at times it feels a little voyeuristic, especially the scenes in his home where we see his personal relationships crumble.

You want to reach in and grab him and shout 'What the **** is wrong with you!' as he makes every situation ten times worse for himself. It's like his only instinct is for self destruction and it's all he deserves.

From reading up about him, the guy is a complete douchebag that learnt nothing from his experiences and he's currently in jail for sexting a minor. An absolute creep.

My toes were curled (literally) for some of the scenes in this.
    Really well done "fly-on-the-wall".
I had heard of the guy and his wife but I spent ages googling the background afterwards.
    His poor wife.

Californication is a brilliant show. Hank and Runcle are brilliant characters. Enjoy it, you won't be disappointed.

I distinctly remember a threesome that finishes brilliantly, proper laugh out loud moment, very good show.

I've been recommended Counterpart. It's a 10 part series. Is that on Netflix/Amazon Prime? A friend of mine really enjoyed it.

    No network decided yet

I did ask the creator on Twitter (Justin Marks) was Counterpart coming to Ireland and the UK and he replied "soon!" (01 April)

Watched 4 episodes so far with the kids - one episode a night with them. I'm enjoying it for what it is even if the pacing isn't greatest - it's a tad slow at times which would make it a tough one to binge watch I think. I'll definitely finish out the season and the kids are enjoying it.

Not sure when Operation Odessa was added but was flicking through and stuck it on without knowing anything about it, would highly highly reccomend. It’s a really entertaining, funny crime/drugs documentary, similar style to The Seven Five, little bit light on content but the characters in it really make up for it

Watched it last night, quite enjoyed it.

Anyone know where I can purchase Season 2 of Occupied? Looks like Netflix will never air it here.

The last few episodes of MadMen were added a few weeks ago, finished them all last night. Good enough ending - did he or didn’t he? :D

Interesting documentary, some sympathy for Huma but she certainly had political ambitions for her husband like her mentor. She is a stunning lady.

Hard to believe but he's now doing hard time for sexting a minor and she's filed for divorce.

Exorcism of Emily Rose is on there.
Otherwise, It Follows or The Wailing are very good.

I'm enjoying Alias Grace. It has been on my list for ages but something kept putting me off. It's well worth the watch. Not just for the fascinating story but the way Grace speaks, how she tells her story, the accent, intonation, turn of phrase, is beautiful. I could listen to her all day. The acting is brilliant. The story itself is unravelling at a very good pace.

Just added to sky go today according to justwatch. Not sure if that will have any bearing on when it comes to Netflix

If you're into 80s Shlock as I am I would recommend Humanoids from the Deep and Return of the Living Dead... Humanoids especially because of how offensive and un PC it would be deemed by todays standards :D.

I am up to episode 7 in Lost in space I quite like it.....but Parker Posey is still truly dreadful in it, she is like something out of a panto!

I finished it last night and while I've no issues with her acting, her character just makes absolutely no sense.

I have to say looking forward to this Danish show Rain, but some really interesting films coming too including new ones from Jeremy Saulnier (Green room and Blue Ruin) and Gareth Evans (Who did the raid!)
