Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. Actually found the vinyl album recently in my Folks' house. My Dad bought it when he was a teenager back in the 60s.

Personally, I think this album is a wee bit overrated, but I love this hazy artwork; it perfectly sums up the unique atmosphere and sound of the record. I think the best album covers let you get a sense of what the music is likely to sound like before you've even heard a note and this does the job better than anything else I can think of.

Can't attach on this but G N' R Lies and Sargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band are still two of favourites both in terms of art work and songs.

The inside and back LP sleeves (taken from their Other Side Of Midnight appearance) of the first Stone Roses album were smashing at the time. They just looked really cool

That Pink Floyd cover for Momentary Lapse was all done for real. No special effects. They got 700 NHS beds and put them on a beach.

The cover was originally taken from a photograph of Elton John giving the two-fingered salute; designer Marc Meulemans added a brown paper bag over the head of Elton John, to avoid problems with the rights, but original photographer Richard Young refused to let them use the picture anyway. Meulemans then decided to remove the whole photograph by means of Tipp-Ex, leaving just the brown paper bag.
