Correct pronunciation of Dacia

OK sorry, trivial post - but over here in Ireland I hear its called Day-see-ah in the Irish adverts but had a UK radio station on the other day and in the advert the guy kept saying Day-chia

so, what'll it be?

I understand not saying VolksVagen or Matzudah due to the language but it's odd how Dacia is pronounced different between Ireland and the UK.

In different languages though it seems to matter. I asked for water in the Netherlands once and she didn't have a clue, close enough to vah-ter to be fair.

The German woman in the video below could teach me pronunciation all day long...

I'll tell you what it isn't, ****ing aw-dee.

If in doubt, assume the people that own the company are right. If you dont know what way the higher ups in Dacia ( or Renault if the dont have seperate higher ups) , go with the local ads ( that'll be aw-dee everywhere for some of you, you know who you are)

As above - when I was in Romania it was pronounced like that.

When top gear were there they showed a local ad that prounced it like that.

It's from the latin word for Romania so the original Latin would be the most correct pronunciation.

According to the first Google response I got that's Day-Sha but I have no idea if that's right.

No different to how Peugeot is pronounced really, our ads always refer to them as 'Pew-jhoe', but the UK ads always refer to them as 'Per-jhoe'.

I thought 'Dat-chee-ah' was the correct pronunciation, not 'Dah-see-ah' as I have seen on some recent ads and definitely not 'Day-see-ah' as popularised by Clarkson, May and Hammond.

It's hard to be definitive when many ads over the year on Irish Tv and radio have perpetuated wrong pronounciations, as someone said Ren-alt and Ordy
