Dublin Bus are already operating a substantially reduced service.

    Weather Disruption Limited Service

It's a tricky one to call, I can make it into work but there's a good chance buses could be further curtailed this evening if the weather deteriorates further.

You'll get in but struggle to get home. All bus Eireann are cancelled. Dublin Bus will follow

All the people I warned in work, and foolishly dismissed me, are snowed in. Meanwhile, my house has no snow.

    Balls.

Stick on 103.2 on the radio/TuneIn/DublinCityfm site

Main problem so far seems to be getting up hills - including delays from the N3-M50S

Thanks. .DCU closed so don't have to make journey!

One thing for people travelling to bear in mind is that the Red Warning issued by Met Eireann is not for snow that has fallen....it's for snow that is expected to fall today.

Slipway to M7 J15 and J17 heavy snow still around Portlaoise.

And as always, some people are driving too close behind, too fast and overtaking when a little patience would go a long way.

If I was a school, and in an area that wasn't really bad but had a bit, I'd so send a text out saying we're open. They'd get all excited when they hear the text sound, and bam, we're open.

Jaysus schools cancelled here in Virginia. I am taking it as a red warning in this area because so close to Meath. We always get hit when Meath is warned, in the maps the red warning stops just beside us.

Got a nice dumping last night. If it continues.

Luas only operating from Red Cow to town, and that a very limited service apparently. Despite that, their site insists both lines are operating normally

DIT will be open today with a possibility of closing at lunchtime. Seriously doubt there'll be more than 10 in college today

Net Zero means we are paying for the destruction of our economy and society in pursuit of an unachievable and pointless policy.

    Finally some action in Wicklow.

Work just emailed saying don't come in so that's a relief either way.

Can relax now and enjoy this thread

Still no communication from work (Dublin City centre) whereas last time there was a red alert they were quick to instruct people who can work from home to do so. A bit annoyed as the company culture/policy is that working from home is more for special situation so if they say nothing they expect people to come - this morning is mostly fine but it would be stupid to go there and get stuck on the way back home due to effects of the red warning today whereas working from home would have been just fine.

No bother here. Idiots who cant drive crashed on the way in. I passed 5 cars and one rigid truck, some of whom were facing the wrong way. Drive appropriately to the conditions.
Of course the council hadnt gritten the M3 or R147 either. SO that was fun.

Hard work getting to work in Dublin this morning. Such an amount of ejits out there. If you are afraid of the snow and driving at barely 50k then out of lane 3!

Can some people please tell their eejit neighbours to clear the ROOF of the car as well as the windows, just seen a car pull up and snow slide right off the roof and damaged their wipers!

DIT just updated that college will be closed today. They are staying open for students and staff whom already started their journey into college. They are advising everyone not to go in if they haven't started their journey.

No excuse for a tram route not operating. The trams they use operate in much colder temperatures in a regular basis (on the continent). Only reason could be visibility issues or simply the danger posed by other vehicles.

In my experience adverse temperature effects come in to play at around -20/-25C for rail transport.
