Let me put it this way...Do you like to wiggle your Booty??:D

All joking aside, don't take corners fast and you'll be fine and the Winters on the front drive wheels will help you get up the hills. Take a bend too fast though and the arse of the car will slip out. Its why Snow Sock users need to be aware of this too. Decent traction on the front is all well and good but you have to be careful not to lose the back end.

No but I like Tokyo Drift :D

Will letting a bit of air out of the back ones be of any benefit ?

Listen if it gets bad then obviously I won’t expect them to come in. An auld bit of mushy snow and a low temperature isn’t a reason to let them stay at home watching Netflix and drinking wine at 11 in the morning. This is some moderately bad weather, not the next ice age. There’ll be plenty of people working all through it.

Ha that gave me such a laugh Johnny. Believe me I see your point of view here. I haven’t checked into Boards since I went to work at 8am, I can’t believe the mass hysteria here now. At the most this weather event will last 3/4 days .

FFS people get a grip !! Jeez some of the questions are laughable - have people no cop on or common sense ? No 2 situations are the same , these are mostly hypothetical questions ! How can anyone tell now whether a flight on Saturday will take off or not, whether there will be snow at 11.25 in Ballyliffin, whether my mother in laws ingrown toe nail operation will be cancelled on Friday ??

Unreal stuff . We are not all going to die before the weekend

Watched people scrambling through Lidl at lunchtime in vain for sliced pans and milk. If a major catastrophe was imminent, I could understand, but not a two day snow event.

I pushed someone out of the way in Tesco Drumcondra to get to a Brennans sliced pan. There was about 15 loaves left mind but just wanted to get into the spirit of things.

I think the milk and bread run is sensationalised really. People know it will be miserable out for a couple of days and want to just hide inside. Their little shop runs theyd usually have in those days have all just pulled into this last day before the forecasts are telling them it's going to snow.

All very well, and i was amused at my wife coming home yesterday with 3 packs of firelighters along with enough milk to see us through till monday - but if other people are panic buying the rational thing to do is stock up yourself - before the shelves are emptied by irrational panic.

    Question:

Someone in work just told me that apparently you're not insured to drive your car while there is a red weather warning in place.

Any truth to that does anyone know?

How may 'Proper SUV's with 4WD' owners with Summer Tires are going to end up being towed by a FWD Golf on Winter Tires? :D

I'll have to try to explain to a colleague that his small car will be better in the snow than the 2wd SUV they have.

Stop panicking about a few snow flakes for god sake. Let's hope all services schools and everyone in work as usual. Hate this sensationalist attitude, no need to worry about this it's been this cold before to no avail. People should not be rushing to supermarkets and buying out shelves. Disgraceful in my opinion.

If you bothered to read the forecast you would know it's alot more than a few flakes of snow. Panic buying is obviously an over the top reaction but you're very mistaken if you think just because it was cold before that this week will be no different - that attitude is far more reckless. That's not how the weather works.

Yes people shouldn't prepare for what is going to be extremely bad weather because you say so. Enjoy being proven utterly wrong ;)

You are absolutely right. If I get two paid days off work this week, I'm complaining to my local TD, this wrapping up at home on front of Netflix nonsense is not what great countries were built on

    :pac:

Calm down dear. You are panicking more about the people who are supposedly panicking

Speak for yourself a day or 2 off work before the weekend would suit me fine. Plus i work in a warehouse and it's like a feckin freezer in here without any of this weather needed haha

I'm starting to get a bit concerned about the food situation. My boyfriend is adamant that this is ridiculous and we can pop out tomorrow if we need anything. I might get a few more things just in case. People panic buying are causing me to panic.

Jesus, the anger in that post isn't dispelled by putting a ';)' at the end you know.

    Don't be a dick.

Looks like there is a chance the cold weather and snow will linger after Friday.

There is a level of uncertainty through the weekend with a complex area of low pressure to the south bringing further spells of wintry precipitation

No need to panic buy but if a Red warning is given tomorrow, the queues will be mental, I'd pop out and get stuff you'd use over the weekend anyway.

Is that the way things are leaning now, starting a bit later in week and maybe lasting well into the weekend?

Buy your own stash, tell him to feck off when he looks longingly at your toastie sambos on Friday as he nibbles on a stale cream cracker he found in the back of the press.

Random question, but how often do supermarkets normally get bread delivered?
