    Never underestimate a French side.

Never underestimate any side. But we can correctly estimate this French side as most likely poor, and inferior to Ireland.

Obviously on paper, yes. But on game day things can change, it'll be Paris, Ireland will be up against it. Anything can happen and with yeno a bit of young flair at fly half and on the wings, France could get lucky and score a few tries. Ireland can't let their guard down.

The only thing that worries me about our Six Nations bid this year is our lineout. I do remember a couple of key junctures last year the lineout costing us dearly. Chiefly on moments when we rejected the posts and kicked for the corner. This might sound like hyperbole but if Best has a stinker at any stage in this Championship with regards to his darts I think his Irish career could be over. I'm even slightly skeptical about his inclusion under the guise that everything is building towards the Rugby World Cup in 2019. I don't think I'd start Sean Cronin because he comes into his own when others are tired but I would very much like to see someone like Niall Scannell or Rob Herring make this position their own over the next 3/4 months. Someone who will just nail that lineout throw everytime. I'll watch the lineout very closely this weekend. If we have a bad championship this will be the root cause.

I think if the French try too much flair that it will benefit Ireland. That's where their mistakes will come from.
