After starting to save up stardust a good long while ago (maybe around November, and starting at practically 0 :P ) I've finally reached a MILLION !! :D Now the tougher part, what/who to spend it on?? But at the same time i dont really want to spend it now

Im the same , over 1 million for a few months , but bit unsure how where best to use it , most of my decent mons are at decent levels already but certainly not maxed out , have 80 rare candies too that im not sure how best to use , legendaries would seem to be the most logic , spoke to one guy who was keeping his for Mewtwo powerups when eventually caugth , which seemed like a good idea.

Am 0 for 5 raids. (Not getting into enough raids is my problem)
Was in Dublin city center for 2 hours, had to leave before 4pm. And of course 3 silver eggs appeared at or after 3pm!
I failed to catch at a 3,45 raid then had to sadly get a bus as the group moved to get the next 2 raids!

Best bet for stardust use might be raid attackers. Psychic mons to take down Machamp, and then good Machamps for killing Blissey’s?

    324/335

Been best legandary for me so far , 5/8 , i usually well below 50% , and failed on first 2 , so 5/6 since then .Got one with a critical catch today , first time that happened for me with a legendary.

Spent a fair bit myself over the last few weeks, ampharos/sandslash/dragonite/tyrannitar/groudon/machamp/exeggutor/venusaur. I like to try to mix it up having different types instead of an army of rhydons for ground etc etc.

Have about 100 rare candies right now, trying to keep at least 50 for the rainy day. Start of the new raid cycle I save all new rare and try to set aside 100k startdust to put into the current legendary, Kyorge will be my next one to upgrade once its gone.

    I've done 15 Kyogre raids, caught 7. Groudon I did 20, caught 14.

I tell you one thing, Niantic are smart enough promoting the gen 3 egg thing. I was out a good bit over the weekend and only the dregs of gen 3 are spawning in the wild, hence the desire to get a few incubators. I have about 5,000 coins, sp got a few in and have my second of 3 10k eggs on the go.

Ref Stardust, I have about 1.4 mil. I was always using it up until the gym changes kicked in, but not as much of a need now.

For anyone wondering - you only need 66 rare candies to power up any mon from level 20 to 30.

That's what I keep in storage - the rest I convert into legendary candies (which don't take up any storage space).

I'm currently at 27 candies but that's because I converted a bunch over to kyogre candies when it first came out. Hopefully by the time Rayquaza comes along I'll have 66 to store up for him too.

Currently 10 for 12 - two memorable catches include one last ball catch and one critical catch. None are particularly strong but it's good enough for me.

I'm the reverse of some of you guys.... Had 1.5million stardust and while constantly adding I'm actually spending more...
Yesterday as an example, I was struggling in a solo against Alakazam weather boosted.... So spent 120,000 stardust to top up 3 Tyranitars.... Still didn't do it.
    Down to last 150,000

Since I started to use the go plus, I find stardust and xp building up quicker, but easy come easy go :)

Rare candies before the nerf were excellent, spent loads that time on mareep/tyrannitar.

have given up trying to solo Alakazam myself after 9 attempts , have 4 Ttars at over 3000 xp , but was wondering if powering up more was really worth the use of a lot of stardust . To date have been only taking notice of overall IV , now taking note of attack IV , my best 2 TTars are 11&12 , so then not sure if that is having a reasonable impact too on damage output and not worth plowing stardust in when 11/12 rather than 14/15 ?
I've also convinced myself that my iphone SE is not optimal for Alakazam and losing some vital seconds starting up and slower dodging /getting off charge attacks.

First world Lvl 37-40? Pokemon problems :)
Whenever Jr goes over 100,000 I tell him he's hoarding too much in his dustbank and he'll get a better ROI if he uses the excess to power up something.

So he's been powering up his 4 Alakazams lately to Lvl 25-32, 2 with C/FB, 2 with C/FS.
This weekend he and his Lvl 22 Mammy took down a Machamp with 80s still on the clock.
(They had a weather boost and Machamp hadn't an optimal moveset)
He wants to solo a Machamp next weekend

I've solo Alakazam plenty of times but the new challenge was a weather boosted one.... I'll try again soon when I see one... I've solod all Tier 3 but still find Alakazam the hardest now that Gyarados has the right moves for Ninetales

Whats your team/CPs for Al if you dont mind me asking.
I powered 2 gengars up fairly high but found they cant seem to dodge any charged attack (maybe thats my phone) , so im lucky to get in 3/4 shadowballs between them.

Bugger. Machamp raid just started at the gym up the road.
Lovely sunny day in SE Dublin, but PoGo showing weather as cloudy.
Moveset is BP/CC so perhaps I still have a chance?
The temptation of catching a weather-boosted Machamp is strong.

    [Edit]
Kept my powder dry in the end.
The weather changed to windy 10 minutes after the raid finished...

Did a machamp raid earlier today, started rainy just before the hour and it changed to cloudy by the time I finished, nice to see the weather boost is dynamic. Got a 2011 one in the end, not great but he can sit in the reserve team for now.

Just had a few sunny hours here in Cork, cacnea's were fairly common for a while. I think the weather adds a nice touch to the game.

How dynamic is the weather? I read somewhere that it only updates once an hour on the hour.

Thats spot on. You can see the weather symbol change on the hour.
Yesterday I was in a catch sequence as it ticked over to 5pm. Rain graphics vanished and blue sky appeared behind the pokemon.

Yeah, its on the hour every hour and it seems to be based off accuweather. The weather can also change from area to area, its probably linked somehow to the s2 cells and a certain size.

I could leave the city in rain and get out home to have it change 2 or 3 times going through different area's.

Clear weather earlier finally caught a vileplume damn elusive monster has been very hard to get, 1933cp too so not bad have 65 oddish candies to load him up too.

A vileplume? I'm jealous. None of my mates have managed one of them.

Have had two run recently used 20 ultra balls and two golden berries to catch this one.

    Naiive question.
Why would you use so much stuff catching something that you've probably gotten a better version of already from Oddishes?

Or was it something that started out with a great ball?
Then a razz and a great ball.
Then a razz and an ultra ball.
and 5 ultra balls later it got personal?

a weather boosted vileplume could be close to level 30/35 which would mean no stardust investment.

Yes, but couldn't it also have the same IV as a cabbage in Tesco?

Now I'll be looking at cabbages in Tesco's and wondering which one has the highest IV's!!

I get carried away sometimes and then just can't back out, whats one more ultraball, '20 ultraballs later' :D

I'm also on a great run of golden razz at the moment, every raid without fail I get some, I can't seem to go below 150 at the moment.

Ivs matter little in the overall course of things.

It's why a 66% iv mewtwo is still actually a 95% mewtwo overall - the last 15 attack stats makes up comparatively little compared to its natural 300 attack stat.

    66% = 10 attack = 310/315 attack = 98.4% "perfect" already...

Collecting high iv pokemon is all about the collecting of rarity - any low iv pokemon especially if high level already (and thus do not need stardust investment) are perfectly adequate for battling etc purposes.

Just another example - 33% vileplume:
    = 3 attack = 205/217 attack = 94.4% "perfect" already.

Niantic has made it that you are guaranteed golden razzberries after any raid even lvl1.

I wish it had been rare candies instead :D

Can’t get an Ex raid for love nor money here in Waterford - what’s a good gym in Dublin or Cork that regularly gets them? Was thinking of taking a trip to either some weekend to try - probably Stephens Green?

'The Arche' in Cork , at the entrance to Bishop Lucy Park is the only one in the city which gets them. There are a few gyms in Fitzgeralds park that could be eligible too, but there has yet to be any triggered there.

Thanks - is there a lot of activity at that one so? Our local group in Waterford bust its ass this week trying to trigger an Ex Raid at eligible gyms but we got nothing!
