    hello all,

I need to send a large envelope over to the continent, the postage works out as 5.50... I have stamps at home with all sorts of values, the highest being 1 eur. Is there a limit to how many stamps I can put on an envelope to get the right value? Right now I'm looking at sticking a minimum of 6 on it, will that work?

Yes.. but leave space for a plus sign between each stamp, followed by an equals sign, and then write the total of the postage at the end.

    What's in the envelope Martin?

it's a relatively small book, but still it's above 250 grams so works out a tad bit expensive

Whats in the book, not the name or content of the book, but in the cut out pages section of the book?:)

Only six? Be grand. I've put as many as ten on an envelope in the past.

now now, don't get excited, what could you possibly smuggle to mainland Europe that wouldn't be cheaper there in the first place?

I received a parcel from the UK that had about 15 stamps on it!

If you put on loads of stamps it'll make the envelope heavier,
which means you'll need more stamps which will make the envelope heavier ...

I didn't even know you could do that:D
I have loose stamps at home for local letters, but if something is heavy I bring it the post office and ask for whatever stamp is needed for that weight.

    doh:(
