Work has stopped on the site of the new Loretto school being built in Wexford due to the collapse of the main construction company Carillion.

    https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.rte.ie/amp/935501

"A Wexford school, which had expected to move into its substantially completed new building tomorrow, has confirmed to RTÉ News that the building's delivery has now been postponed indefinitely."

"The Taoiseach has told the Dáil that the Government will resolve the issue around the opening of schools affected by the closure of Carillion, the British company responsible for the design, build, finance and maintenance of six new schools across the country."

Talking about the 19th Feb now, what a complete cock up

It wasn't Carillion directly but a company they own called Inspired Designs that were to "maintain" the school

These PPP's - are they effectively a loan that the Gov will pay back over x years but certainly get screwed on the repayments? So, no need to pay out cash up front that we can't afford now but can afford exorbitant repayments over the agreed term?
