Follow up on the multi switch can I get sat/saorview from 1 output on the switch, if so this will dictate the size of switch to get.

Satellite and Saorview are combined for each output.

Another question on the multi switch. There is 4 sat inputs 2 say high band and the other 2 say low band does it matter which leads from the sat are connected to them. I have a quad LNB.

Assuming it's a switch that's actually compatible with a quad LNB, then no, it won't matter which LNB port you connect to which switch port.

What's the make & model of the switch?

Its the one supplied by FreeTV.ie Titanium MS 5/8 ES.

Yeah, that will work with a quad LNB, so it won't matter which way the cables are connected. If you were using a quattro LNB, each output would have to go to its matching switch input.

How would I know if he installed a Quatro LNB

A quattro would have its outputs labeled like the inputs on the switch: 4 fixed outputs as opposed to the 4 switchable outputs on a quad.

There would be no reason to have a quattro installed unless it's being paired with a switch, as it's no use on its own.
