Was just putting some turf on the fire, when i noticed a white tooth sticking out of one of the sods....further examination revealed the complete skull. Does anyone know what animal it is from ?

    Otter?
Definitely too flat and long for a dog.

The skull came from the turf digging hole - so it was either lying just below the surface or 4/5 metre down. I was hoping that it might be a Bronze age beast thats now extinct. The area does have a lot of streams, ditches and pools so will keep an eye out for any sign of otters (spraints, footprints etc).
