I’m also in if some one is opening a family premium a/c. Is it 30euro for the year?

Added my name to the list.... :)

What way does this work? Someone pays for the family subscription as a once off payment then we pay them? Then get added to the group by email is it?

No they pay monthly but the family members pay up front for the year €30.

    @CWF - you'd have to pay 60 for 2 slots
Then the person who sets it up send out invites from spotify to the members - so they all have their own account essentially.
The invites go to email address which each member would PM whoever sets it up

60 euro is no problem. One is for me and one a surprise for my girlfriends bday. So would I have to give her email address for her one as that's the address associated with her account?

Yes an address for each account so one for you and one for your girlfriend, the person taking out the membership will then give you the address used when he signed up as you need to use the exact same address when setting up your spotify account.

So OK - we need one more person.

I'm happy to go ahead and set it up and pay by PayPal as long as everyone else sends me the money via PayPal also.
Also - each person would need to pay the PayPal fee on their side otherwise I wouldn't get the full amount (It's the "send money to friends and family" payment option)

    Does that seem fair ?

Quick question before I do this,
Can I use the email address associated with my existing spotify a/c (to keep my playlists etc) or do I need to create a separate new email and new spotify a/c for the family premium plan?

    Dunno - I haven't done it before - anybody else know ?.....

    Edit - apparently you can
You can use your existing email address to sign up. Once the "family host" sends you the invitation via email, you sign up with your existing spotify email address and all your playlists etc will be kept.

According to Spotify you don't lose playlists.

What if I already have an account?
You can start or join a Premium for Family plan with an existing account. All of your account details will remain the same, including any saved music, playlists, and followers.

If you’re already subscribed to Premium when accepting an invite, all subsequent payments on your account are made by the plan owner.

Note: If you subscribed to Premium through another company (e.g. your mobile/broadband provider or iTunes), you need to cancel your subscription with them before starting or joining a Family plan.

I had to set up a brand new account to get it to work for me. I tried to use my old account but wouldn't kept getting error trying to accept invite. No issues with the new account now tho. Bit of a pain but still a good saving.

You have to, otherwise they will cancel it, ensure you all use the exact same postcode.

Forgive my ignorance and stupidity please but as I have a vast library of CD's loaded onto iPod's I really have no interest in streaming music. I downloaded Spotify once upon a time and couldn't figure it out so didn't bother anymore.

However, curiosity got the better of me and I recently clicked I link and was able to play the new U2 album on Spotify, which I'd forgotten I had previously downloaded.

So then I start getting bombarded with a 3 month special offer fo 99c. I pulled the trigger as I got new Bluetooth headphones and still need to get a bluetooth transmitter for my iPod.

What is the difference between paying a tenner a month and the free service? All I can figure out was every half an hour on the free service was hte fact you got a very quick ad to tell you the next half hour would be free!

Am I missing something? Why on earth would anyone pay a tenner a month for this?
