But independent women don't need other women with them when driving in case they get a flat tyre.

This why I like Ann, she says what she thinks, no games, she is in her 80s, she is not PC and there are a people who are PC because they worry what people will think of them.
So one doesn't have to agree with everything Ann says, but one can admire the honesty.

I don't view it as honesty, I view it as contrary for the sake of being contrary and it drives me mad. I'd have respect if I felt they were her honest opinions but I think she feels a certain way and then hams that opinion up to the max to be contrary.

Eh no....you just use that line to be a nasty wagon and try to cover it up under the guise of honesty :D:pac:

Ann is coming across as she has always come across. She has not developed a new persona to survive easier in the house.

Lots of men wouldn't be able to change a tyre in 4.30 minutes.

I think that was purposeful on Ann's behalf there, from what I have seen of her she doesnt make cock ups. Bit of a low blow there at India

I've never seen a woman putting a spare wheel on ever! I know of one that called AA out to get one changed.

I've put the spare wheel on my old car. My dad insisted I know how to do it when I was learning to drive. A couple of my female friends can to it also and I know a couple of male friends who would struggle to do it.

I don't buy into the thinking that Ann is 72 and has old fashioned ideas about child care. If anything, she should be for parents having the choice. Back then it was almost the default position, you have a kid, you stay at home. Having the option gave many women the option of financial freedom, the ability to work if being a SATM wasn't for them and the option for men being the stay at home parent.
