use calendar only on my phone

    I want to use my calendar only on my phone not have it sync to other calendar. It is for reminders and appointments and i only need it to remind me on the phone as i will have it with me. But it goes past the calendar screens to the log in to google screen? I do not want to log in to google. Also why do i get asked if my contacts should have access to my photos and other files i can't remember now. Does that mean my contacts as in people i would call/text and if i say yes am i allowing them access to my phone

    Android has updated its permissions along the way. Its asking if the contact app on your phone is allowed to access the photos etc.
    Depending on the phone and version of android you can go into settings>apps>contacts>permissions and see what it is asking/allowed.
    It doesn't share this info with your contacts

    Also in case you may want to book an appointment with someone who may be a contact.

    +1 for 3rd party. Been using aCalendar for years. Got pro version from Amazon when they were giving apps away for free. Has nice widgets for appointments etc.

    Go into the user settings for google and turn off the sync for calendar
