firewall

    i have pc-cillin 2003 installed and i have the firewall up to the highest,
    which means that and out oving data have to be clicked ok by the
    user.

    Some programs i know, like irc, or msn, but there are other programs like
    qstat.exe that i dont know what they are or waht they do.(i found
    out that qstat.exe is used in the nnscript for mIRC)

    so i was wounder is there a program or a webbie that can tell yea
    what these programs, or does the user that to know?

    search for the specific exe in windows

    go to its working directory..
    thats usually a good starter..
    to get its name or purpose..

    msconfig in win98/me/xp

    contains all the info on exes path too, to save u some time

    also services, start > settings >control panel > administrative tools > services

    right click and get a services property..
    u can get its exe name from there..

    also some exes contain descriptions in there properties..
    not many..
    all dlls contain text descriptions though..
