For most people that is exactly the case.

The thanks button leads to cliques on forums - that is all.

I asked this question twice already and still no one answered. What cliques?

Is there some secret clique forum I didn't get invited to?

Is it cos I'm a RoboDwarf Cleric?

And what do snarky comments from Admins/Mods achieve, in your opinion?

Do you expect to be able to take shots at people without them responding? Turn this thread into the bleak cesspit that Feedback was?

All I can say is the internet is a large place and I'm sure you can find some place on it that conforms to your ideals of what a website should be and how people should react on it as Boards obviously isn't it.

People should have a right to reply to criticism but some want to have their cake and eat it.

On the prison forum, from my experience most disputes are resolved well before they arrive there. I find it quite funny myself from the times I have been involved to see the difference between posters behaviour before they were banned and the sweet innocence they profess on their thread. They have been through many many discussions and repeated escalating infractions before they arrive at that point.

No, its because your alignment is incorrect.

And dwarven clerics need to be eliminated just like eleven mages, abominations both ;-)

as for the op, fúck that, the level of posting on boards is none of youur concern, boards leveles have, as you say, slowly declined over the yeares, so what.. why do you worry about it? when its so low that it makes a diffenrece, then we can do **** about it, at the moment its manageable, fúck that . viva le reststance..........

:mad: This is worse discrimination than travellers get on Boards.

A lot of people have continually brought up cliques on boards. I asked where are said cliques and have not been given an answer.

I'm now assuming it's cos of my RoboDwarf Cleric ethnicity.

    Shame people of AH.

    Shame.

I agree with you there ......... I've seen no evidence of any cliques on Boards at all.

    Jesus Christ am I invisible?

What cliques and where do they hang out? I see no evidence of such.

Forum Games which is my primary hangout has seen 81 different players play Werewolf since it's birth on Boards. Some have played one game and never come back.

Others like myself have stayed around. We are actively advertising all the time for new players for each game. So, no clique that I can see.

Most of the other forums I frequent are similar. Maybe not to everyone's taste but certainly not cliquish.

I don't see cliques on AH, I see people shouting at each other a lot.

So I ask again, for the fourth time.

Where are these cliques you are all going on about?

If dav3 is the same person as Dav, you're now the fourth ex cm/mod/admin to suggest "if you don't like it, leave".

All i can say is, any company will tell you feedback is necessary. You may not like all of it. Some of it will be from disgruntled customers looking for a moan. But don't tell your life blood to leave.

The ones who didn't care enough to give feedback have left quietly.

I wouldn't bother N. I have found that most of the time such "cliques" don't exist. Some people just don't get it and assume if they're not immediately welcomed into a group two posts in, then it's a "clique". No love it's called normal human social interaction.

Or you get those who post daftness, or more extreme leanings/beliefs/opinion who when the middle of the road average normal people ask a natural WTF? in a group they think "clique". The latter are near guaranteed to run to teacher mods over this.

So it's mostly a non issue to the vast majority of people.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

Oh I'm flattered *blushes*. No, I'm not Dav. I don't travel around the country in a solid gold chariot and live in a palace made from the bones of banned and re-reg users

What is it with all the hypersensitive posters playing the victim card in this thread? 'Mummy, mummy, the bold boys told me to f*ck off'.

The sense of entitlement from some people is staggering. On what planet do some of you people live where you think you can say and do whatever you like on a free forum? Boards.ie owes you nothing. The same applies to the likes of facebook, twitter and youtube.

I can direct people to un-PC forums if they'd like. There are f*ck all people posting in them and advertisers won’t touch them with a barge pole. Why do you think that is?

    "Bleak cesspit". ??? Drama much.....

Be fair and acknowledge the overwhelming majority of posters that have an issue with what was done to Feedback. This constant ignoring by mods and admins of posters concerns is what is killing the site.

If you put a poll up for the community to hire on about feedback it would probably be 90%+ in favour of having it back the way it was.

I wouldn't call it cliques...but they do certain poster be targeted/gossiped about via PM....usually starts with a question....what do yous think of x,y and z poster....and rolls from.there

I just always reply....I don't see value in getting into pointless fueds with people I don't know...so let it at that

But you would see that poster being gossiped about being more or less ignored/sidelined after it (wheter it's right or wrong and they do same themselves to others is another discussion altogether)..

....but it takes incredible naivety to say it deosnt go on....pointless and childish as it may seem...it do happen

:pac: seriously? People actually do this? :pac: How sad are people to PM someone about another anonymous user.

That's not clique behaviour. That's going full blown rword.

Yeah retard. Moron, idiot, imbecile are all OK, even though all are old medical terms for mental disabilities, just like retard, but that one gets the chop. Varies geographically too. More acceptable in North America for example. Hence a mainstream Hollywood film can use it and create an entire meme from it.

For me the thread on the coast guard helicopter crash showed the biggest issue with boards. A couple of obviously knowledgeable posters were making intelligent, informative and measured contributions. They were treated like trolls by mods who had an agenda and no expertise on the subject.

Not sure about cliques but there are private forums where you need to be invited into and dont show on any feed. There was an open discussion about it in feedback.

Eh... cliques absolutely do exist on boards. As in real life, people who profess not to notice any are usually in at least one themselves.

Don’t really mind myself. The community side of boards never really interested me. I have always found that aspect of the site vaguely nauseating and don’t miss it. I even shied away from it when it seemed like I was being accepted into one of the cliques in the past. I use boards, and always did, to read different and well-constructed opinions. I have no interest in knowing any forum members in real life. I can’t imagine I’m alone in this. The loss of a community feel as a main reason for the decline of boards.ie is overstated, in my opinion.

Really? Learn something new every day I guess! Sure if they're that private they can't have a whole pile of interesting things to say :pac:

Generally true, though I really don't think that applies to boneyarsebogman. Whether rightly or wrongly, snowflake is also used as an easy catch-all by many non-trolls or alt right gobsh*tes.

Same with the thread on the Germanwings crash over in the Aviation forum. A handful of learned posters analysed the known data and suggested that a possible cause of the crash was a deliberate, controlled descent. They were told to stop speculating like they were some kind of crackpots.

I'll never post as often as I used to, and I'm fine with that. The forum will die in the next few years and I'm fine with that, too.

The sheer effort that's involved with posting an opinion on here means I only post around a third of the posts I write. There's a certain righteous style of post that implies the poster is a the perfect person and it's used too much on here to get Thanks.

And I've come to actually despise the mods because of the amount of time of ours they waste, and I'm glad they're getting singled out so hard for their lack of ability. If you delete (not lock, actually delete and it disappears) a three-page thread full of normal posts, because the opening post was created by a re-reg, and that was his only post, you should not be a mod. That's three pages of posts by regular active that got deleted on a whim. That's such an attack on the userbase, the mod should be site-banned, but instead, he can publicly defend it.

I've contributed plenty to this place, including leading feedback charges that led to the creation of two popular forums. Now I'm watching it fall apart and can't even offer feedback anymore.
