B8 Passat outside temperature sensor

Hi, The temperature reading on my B8 Passat is reading way over the correct temperature. Where is the sensor located on the Passat and is it a case of just replacing the sensor itself. Thanks.

Not entirely sure where the sensor is in the b8. In previous models it was located to the left hand side (passenger) of the lower grill, just in front of the rad. I replaced just the sensor in a mk 5 golf.

Wouldn't even the oldest B8 still be in manufacturers warranty?

According to the Volkswagen website only the first two years are unlimited mileage with the third year limited to 90,000km which my car has exceeded unfortunately.
