    Insurance premiums will rise.
People driving Diesel cars will get absolutely fleeced with a road tax rise while petrol prices will skyrocket.
A huge car loan bubble will become apparent by the end of 2018.
No terrorist attack in Ireland because the terrorist will be stabbed by some junkies on O'Connell street before he gets there.
More young people will find themselves in precarious work even with degrees.
Another attempt to go high rise will fail because of bollix residents that are worried for 20cm less sun in their north facing gardens.
Some A celebrity comes out as transgender.
The left wing will separate into extreme left, which will lead to violence, and the rest will move significantly to the middle.

ISIS are currently regrouping. They've had a bad year and with them being defeated in Syria they don't have a seat of power as such. I'd expect a huge amount of lone wolf/suicide style attacks starting early next year as a backlash to this defeat.

There will be a massive resurgence in the popularity of old music formats. 'Hipsters' will start posting videos on YouTube about the 'sweet analogue warmth' that only wax cylinders can produce.

Nasa will send a rover to a part of Mars they had never send one to before. They will broadcast live video footage and the world will be shocked when they see the corpse of Hitler (the real Hitler, not the body double that fooled the world) lying in the Martian dust.

The Queen will decide she wants a new corgi. She will try a new corgi dealer all her friends have told her about. She will be unaware that this company is manufacturing robot corgis. She'll buy one from them and everything will be okay for a month or two. The corgi will then be hacked and will shoot lazer beams at her from its eyes. These lazers will be so powerful it will rip her flesh from her bones.

There will be a thread here titled "RIP Queen Elizabeth II" and someone will reply "who?".

Bitcoin to reach a record high and then collapse. Secret institutional investors to laugh all the way to the bank. Average Joe investors to get cleaned out.

Eighth Amendment wording/text to cause controversy.

Michael D Higgins to renege on his promise and run unopposed for a second term.

Government to fall over a minor issue that nobody really cares about.

    Global economy to slow down.

North Korea to continue its sabre rattling. But the detente remains.

Zinedine Zidane saves his job at Real Madrid by winning the Champions League despite wretched league form.

Regular low tech terrorist attacks in Europe.

Star Wars Episode IX to contain all-female cast, with no male characters.

Muted Oscar awards with a sombre atmosphere. No smug speeches a la George Clooney.

Hollywood and media celebrities continue to get exposed for historic abuse.

The Irish will only manage 6 winners at Cheltenham
Dundalk will regain the Airtricity title
Harry Kane will sign for Real Madrid
Rory McIlroy will win a major.
There will be a stock market correction in August
The current denizen of Auris an Uachtaráin will not be the next President of Ireland
Prince Philip will take off for that celestial palace in the sky
Any connection between the afore-mentioned and subsequent reality will be found to be non-existent.

I predict the Earth will not be hit by a massive asteroid, and humanity will survive into 2019.

Don't blame me if I'm wrong mind

Noticed that OP wasn't too far off some of his e.g. Ebola is back, bitcoin is down, facebook scandals, ideology change in SA, corruption in the other SA etc.

Other other extracts from 2017's on page 2:
    • Eruption of Vesuvius and the evacuation of Naples. There is also a serious earthquake in New Zealand during 2018.

5.2 quake today, the Director of the Vesuvius Observatory, told press agencies that she has received floods of phone calls from worried residents.
    • America make a big military commitment to Japan as the country’s pacifist mandate is withdrawn. Japan pays to hire American missile defense services.

Jap' is now laden with deep radar and a variety of big throwing sticks.
    • There will be a hard Brexit but, pressed by Germany, Europe will relent at the last moment and allow a trade deal. Junker loses face and ‘retires’. Britain strikes its own cross-border deal with Ireland despite objections fro the EU.

TBC.. Expect a deal on 28th of March just before the lights go off.
    • Theresa May will stay in power for a while longer and the UK will thrive despite a world economic problems.

Still there, not entirely sure how.
    • Italy will see the rise of strong Nationalism { probably early summer 2018 as boat crossings increase again}.

Two new extreme parties now rule Italy in an coalition, the taxi boats have been told to sling their hooks elsewhere.
    • An Italian Banking Crisis causes chaos in Italy and many lose their homes. The Euro will plummet and towards the end of 2018 and into 2019 there will be riots as the steep economic decline takes hold. Denmark and Italy may signal pulling out of EU as Euro crashes.

Italy's economy is pretty much screwed, x15 bridges have collapsed in recent times (one this week), Denmark bans the veil, and has to force feed integration.
    • An attempt to impeach Donald Trump in mid 2018 fails. He becomes more popular as a result.

    Still rockin'
    • Donald Trump will initiate a massive trade deal with the UK in advance of Brexit that will shake the EU. The deal will concern arms, high tech services and the motor industry.

Offered to triple trade levels for trade exclusivity post-brexit, we'll see.
    • The US will lose trade in the East as China and Russia form a military and economic alliance in response to the North Korean crisis and US protectionism.

Looks like they're quickly loosing friends in Turkey and Iran now also.
