    Update in terms
A new EU directive named PSD2 is changing a few things, and we’re updating our Terms and Conditions to keep up. You won’t notice much of a difference, but here’s a summary of the tweaks. It opens up some new possibilities for useful services like multi-banking. The new T&Cs will take effect on February 7th, 2018.

On top of that, we’re also standardizing the cost for replacing cards. All replacements will now cost €6. This change reflects new EU rules on card replacements.

We’ve detailed the exact changes in the attached new T&Cs. If you have further questions about the changes, please visit our Support Center, or let us know at terms@n26.com.

If you accept these revised Terms and Conditions, awesome—you don’t need to take any further action. We’re happy that you read all the way down here.

If you do not accept these revised Terms and Conditions, you must contact us within 2 months of this notice indicating that you decline to do so. If you contact us to decline, we will then cancel your account. Write to us at N26 Bank GmbH, Klosterstra 62, 10179 Berlin or at terms@n26.com . You are also free to cancel your account, at no cost to you, and without previous notice.

How would someone go about getting a cheque marked as "AC Payee Only" cashed if they only had an N26 account?

I would return to sender and ask them to pay in a proper way. It's 2017, who the hell uses cheques in this day and age, haven't seen one in over 20 years thankfully.

I certainly don’t love cheques and haven’t used one in a very long time. But the fact is that an overwhelming majority of the population has an account with a bank which allows them to cash a cheque, so it absolutely is a proper way to pay someone. If I was your payer and you refused to cash my cheque because you don’t think it’s a proper paypemtm method, I’d just tell you you have been paid and won’t get anything else - up to you if you don’t want to cash it.

I have not got a taxi anywhere in a long time.

Yesterday "Dial a Cab" appeared on my phone for €13.60 @ 12.20PM

How can i dispute this? Is contacting their support the only way?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,130 ✭✭✭✭fritzelly

Contacting Dial a Cab might save you some time and most companies do not want chargebacks

Rang Dial a Cab just there. Have to wait until the morning for the management to review it. Should be a lot easier than dealing with N26 (only got my €15 mentioned above, back on Saturday).

And ordered a new one - only way they could pay is with all the details from the card
And I'd be going to the garda as well - maybe the taxi company were delivering/picking up from an address...

Yeah I had that exact problem a few months back, I've a few posts here summarising what happened and what N26 did.

    Hope that helps.

But when I used it in a shop without contact less it worked, thought all atms use the chip especially the ones where you don't fully insert the card...weird

Metal now available in the app, €14.90 a month  That's really pushing it for very little extra over the black. Looks like you just get faster support through the app. Plus the metal is actually coated in plastic for the nfc antenna, so not a full metal card as they would have you believe.

When does the free banking (2.90 p/m) end?
Had to open a new bank account since new job won't accept N26 so wondering if I should throw in the towel on it now

You're probably right to throw in the towel on that job. That's unlikely to be the only illegal behaviour they engage in.

It is stupid/lazy of them, but is it actually illegal?

The regulation forces banks to allow their customers to make credit transfers to any SEPA accounts at no extra charge and forces creditors who offer DD payment facility to accept DD mandates from any SEPA account.

But does it actually force employers to pay employees on any SEPA account?

I’m more thinking Central Bank of Ireland or CCPC ... but I doubt we’ll have an answer ;-)

    Hi guys,

Came across n26 recently when searching for a free banking option. Saw good reviews but a lot of people on here seem to have had issues.

Basically the plan was to use it mainly for online purchases/online trading. I would transfer money into it from my main bank account, use it for my online transactions, and if i ever wanted to take money out of it just transfer it back into my main bank account and withdraw from that. So basically wouldn't be using it for much, no atm withdrawals or physical shop purchases.

Would n26 sound like a good option for this? Has anyone had any issues with them transferring between accounts or making online purchases??
    Cheers

That's basically what I use mine for, and some contactless purchases too. Only ever had one issue, but it was due to my mistake and was quickly resolved. They're hard to get in touch with on live chat, but I've been recommending them to friends for ages.

Same as. I get my wages into ptsb, whack some money into CU for savings and the rest into n26 for day to day spending. There's no fees, if you keep to less than 5 aTM withdrawals a month bar the obvious ones like government fees etc
