I ordered a free SIM from eir online. Didn't have to top it up at all, and used it to port across.

Had got a Tesco sim, and was told when I went into CPW that I had to be a customer for 3 months and was refused.

Couldn't you just tell them that you're with them 6 months or something. Can't see how they can tell...

Yep. I left it slip that I got it just recently, and was then told that.

Just back from a different shop. Told them I was a customer of Tescos for about a year. There was no problem, until they went to port over the number, and the Vodafone sim wasn't recognised in the system. They tried 4 different cards. Unless I got real unlucky with them picking 4 dud cards, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the system can see that it's a new Tesco sim, and blocks the transaction.

Did you put 5 euro credit into the new tesco sim and make a call to activate it before trying to port over to vodafone?

No. I rang it, and it rang out, so I assumed it was activated

I tried to port over from a free eir one this morning, I also rang it but it wouldn't port. So I just went and got 5 euro credit, made a call to activate it and then went back to carphone warehouse. Ported over fine then.

    Lol.

I got an Eir sim. Topped it up and made, and received both calls and texts on it. Went to the shop today, and when I mentioned what I wanted, the girl behind the desk said there might be a problem. However, the guy working with her mentioned that they got an email yesterday, and everything was fine with them. (He didn't say what the issue was, and what was fixed). So she went ahead, got to the scanning in of the Vodafone sim, and it wouldn't go through. Seems there's still a problem.

Anyway, I think I'll give up on this. Ha ha.

109.99 through VF is still a great deal for this phone.

Ordered one yesterday and delivered today. Ported a free lyca mobile sim.

DC Unlocker worked a treat for me

    1. Buy 4 credits

    2. Google Huawei Hisuite and install it for drivers

    3. Download the DC Unlocker software

    4. Now just one correction, it says click "Erase Huawei ID" on the guide, no. You want the network unlock option

Just got this at 99.99 in store, including the 10 euro top up for VF.

Has anyone found a decent case and screen protector? Seems to be a magnet for the fingerprints!

I'm just keeping a screen protector that came with it, although have ordered some more.

Have also ordered this case. Seems a rip off of Spigen Rugged Armor, but I have a similar one on my note and it does the trick.

Got one today in Liffey Valley:

    1) Free Sim from Eir (activated with €5 topup, & call made).
    2) Bring said sim to Carphone Warehouse, & ask about the porting to VF deal
    3) Purchase phone @ €89.99, buy mandatory €10 VF credit
    4) Total €105

Any recommendations for an unlock code?
