Othegre leaps for the rope, but slips on some slime. She tumbles forward across the chasm, as the God leaps at her trying to catch her.

Their eyes meet at the apex of the jump. Othegre begins her descent. Taking out a God, no better way to go.

The God and Othegre fall into the unknown veins of the Earth.

The God enters the room, two tendrils spring forth and grab BandyLegs and Betty by the feet. It's weight begins to cause the floor to collapse. BandyLegs and Betty cannot pull free from its Eldtrich grip. Within the slime however, floats a priceless jewel. 20,000GP at least.

Ekbard straddles the ladder, above he can see sunlight. He only has seconds before the floor collapses. He can only save one of them.

Bandy, Betty or the jewel.

BandyLegs sees Ekbard deftly reach into the slime and scupper the jewel and shoot up the ladder.

The floor begins to collapse. Bandy leaps for the ladder and misses.

The God begins to pull them in for consumption as cracks spread along the floor.

The floor opens up and the body of the God collapses through. This was it, the slime was wrapped thick around both their legs....

The blow lands on the slime, it curls away but doesn't quite lose its grip. It's enough though to prevent him from being pulled in.

Betty flies across the room into the chasm, as two more tendrils fling up and attach themselves to the same leg. BandyLegs struggles against the unworldly strength.

He is pulled slowly toward the chasm, he manages to snap two tendrils free.

One pulls him with enough force over the edge, catching the ledge, beneath he can see Betty's body crushed to a bloody pulp within the gaping maw of the God.

He struggles with all his might to pull himself up....

Bandy winces and slices off his leg, blood gushes out, but he pulls himself up.

He gets to the ladder and manages to grab a rung, but not before another tendril grabs the other leg...

BandyLegs hacks at the other leg, but it doesn't quite come free, a small bit of bone remains attached. He pulls at the ladder, against the god, both of them pulling at the remains of the leg...

...it snaps and flies into the pit. BandyLegs faints from the Blood loss. He is minutes from death.

He struggles toward the ladder, pulls himself up rung by rung. Stumps dripping blood, stomach dripping blood.

Armourless.

Penniless.

But he doesn't quit. Vergadain will have his due. He is a McGillicuddy.

His hand rests on the soft soil on the surface. Ekbard the Nerosian looks almost handsome in the sunlight.

With barely any strength left BandyLegs looks him in the eye and says...
