    Lads, will ye relax. Some people actually need a visa and hence a passport to travel to the north.

    OP, what passport do you hold and do you need a Visa to enter the UK.

    Irish National technically not due to common travel area - Eu National I’d say bring a passport just to be sure. From Outside Eu I’d check your visa.

    You need to have your passport and visa that you had when you entered Ireland.
    I've heard of some people having problems getting back into the Republic because they went to the North without having their passport and visa and got checked on their way back.
