2007 Nissan Note ventilation blower only works on speeds 3/4

    Anyone else had this on a car, the first two settings do nothing other than allow "flow through" it only actually engages the blower motor on 3/4 which is an annoyance rather than a disaster but I'd like to fix it if possible.

    Seems odd that two work and two don't I'd have though it would be an all or nothing type failing.

    Classic issue. it's the resistor/relay, usually found it the passenger footwell somewhere.
    Are you fixing this DIY?

    fuses are fine, did a swap to check. As the problem persists I did a google and one of the resistor cards behind the glove box now looks like the likely suspect.

    Happens a lot of nissans. The heater resistor card can be re-soldered to fix it

    Bump! Finally got round to looking at this today. Alas the soldering point (on the back in this pic) is absolutely fine and solid :( Nothing else looks damaged, corroded, etc. Looks like I'll have to buy a new card.

    Here is the item for anyone who's curious.
