I'm finding it hard to believe that 2 pubs in a small place like carrigstown each took over 7 and a half grand each.

Orla is one of the most annoying characters I've ever seen. All she does is nag.

Damien microwaving his dinner was such a random scene!

Another Sean and Juliet scene, still inconclusive whether they've remembered that they're related though.

Just throwing it out there - maybe Dan is Karen's Dad ??
Maybe they are tying the Dan/Caddle kiss in there as a sort of pre-cursor ??
Maybe Dan had more than a kiss with Karen's Mam behind Robbie's back ??
Maybe I'm giving the writers way too much credit ??

I just knew that the 'D' word (DNA test) would come into it at the end there - not copying corrie much! - I just hope Karen dont get impregnated by the FC alternative to Gazza Windarse ... - who would be the alternative to GW in FC anyway do you reckon?

Maybe karen's father is the ram because he gets around!

RTE sound department working overtime on that scene - a remote control that clicked when you press its buttons (remotes havent done that since the 1970's have they?) - then a fridge that makes a fridge noise/buzz only when the fridge door is open but silent when the door is closed! (I wish mine did that) and a microwave oven that buzzes more loudly than a normal microwave oven should do ... I think its got a dangerous defect! - most probably catch alight and burn the place down and then that will be fair cities next big storyline and people with thinking Damien started the fire on purpose because he is a looser and will never get a girlfriend ...

Robbie walking around with The Irish Times early in the episode.. wouldn't have put him down for a reader of that paper!

    It's a very conservative newspaper

I would have taken him for a Mirror or Star man and the football pages. Not saying there's anything wrong with that. Just felt the Times would be a little high brow for him.

too right, in soapland 2 people argue , names are thrown, cant stand each other ... then they sit down on a settee and out comes the wine and then they kiss ... then scuttle of upstairs with a silly grin, like all of a sudden the sofa is no longer good enough! :D - its obligatory isnt it because we all know that's what happens in real life isnt it!

Ray wants to spend time with Juliet, Cass is her great grandfather (I think) but it looks like he doesn't give a hoot about her.

FC is all a farce, we know more about who's related to who than those fake city writers.

bloody hell - poor robbie. There he is just trundling on with life , wanting a quiet life (though how that is possible with someone as gobby carol I dont know) it wasnt enough for his long lost mother to come looking for him but the writers felt that his long lost daughter should come looking for him too!

you watch in a few months time some bloke will come into the station , start taking an interest in him, carol will start getting suspicious of him being gay ... and then it will turn out that the guy sussing him out will be his long lost brother!!

I thought this too. Especially as Dan urged him not to contact this Aoife one and to just let it go,when he's normally the nosiest going!!

Hasn't it been mentioned before that Dan was overly violent and aggressive in his army days? He caused a guy to be left a vegetable as far as I can remember. Maybe he assaulted Karen's mam and that's why she ran off so suddenly?

then cue a punch up between Wayne and Damien in McCoys

Caught up on the last couple of episodes a bit earlier on - What was that Christmas pantomime I watched there that Halloween night episode! Cringeworthy to say the least!

What had Jane dressing up as a whore looking cop had the feck to do with Halloween???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 735 ✭✭✭youwould

I wonder why FC brought in a stellar actor like Denis Conway a few months ago (the guy Trigger tried to bribe to kill Robbie). It was only for two episodes and he left as quickly as he arrived. Pointless.

I don't know but I wasn't complaining. She was looking well.

Just out of interest is Orla meant to be a likable character?

According to herself she's Ireland's Jennifer Anniston!

When did Jane get her job back in McCoys, thought she was ok after Dermot left her his house and money plus also other money from Paul

    Did Robbie sack Callum?

Major problem with Juliet's relations. Niamh and Sean her aunt and uncle respectively and no involvement in her life. Farcical interaction between Sean and Juliet in the last 2 episodes. As already mentioned great grand dad Cass not on the radar.

I think most of the scriptwriters and a lot of the actors weren't around in 2003 when Juliet was born. Sam Atwell and the vast majority of scriptwers weren't there. Cass came into the show 4 or 5 years later. Sean was played by another actor. If Niamh isn't given any lines with Mondo and Juliet she doesn't really get a chance to point out she's Juliet's aunt.

So the main blame lies with Ray and Mondo. When Sean started going on about Juliet and her fake ID and boyfriend with a moustache last night infront of both of them you'd think they'd have a word with the scriptwriters during the takes. 'Hey Sean is her uncle!!'. Both Ray and Mondo were central characters in Fair City when Kira Cassidy was pregnant with Juliet.

She was fairly promiscuous back in the early days. She rode an auld fella, a guard and a solicitor, all of whom were in relationships if I remember correctly.
