I think the dour stuff just got to people, despite the quality of your other posts.
Plus I think a shark was jumped when you based an opinion on the Joycons based on a demo unit, which aren't weighted the same.

But this really isn't the thread to be digging this stuff up again.

I'd respect the instruction of the mod tbh.

I will but I'm not letting a trolling comment like that above go unchallenged.

    Mod note: Breaaattheee everyone

Sligeach, as I said, this is a general thread in a general forum - it really isn't the place for every tiny bit of Nintendo news, and it really isn't the audience for it. This thread's not just here for people to move to when they're on a 'self-imposed sabbatical' from a forum that has been designed for the very reason of being a place for every bit of Nintendo news.

As I'd say with any poster, if you're having issues or unnecessary confrontations it's always worth taking a step back and thinking about a different approach (which you appear to be doing at the moment). I know for a fact a lot of people respect much of your contribution over in the Nintendo forum, and equally we'd be happy to have you weigh in here too! But just to stress this is a different audience and one that will want to discuss a far broader range of topics than every Switch-related indie game announcement :)

    On that note...
So nobody wants you posting here. And nobody really wants you posting there either.

    Take the hint mate.

This kind of post is just absolutely uncalled for. No matter what your thoughts on a poster, please always keep it civil - no need whatsoever to be cruel.

We never want to lose posters. Well, unless they're trolls, but that's very much not the case here!

Now, hopefully that's the end of all that, and we can return to our regular news thread :)

So we are all agreed the switch is a fantastic console... add to that Nintendo are killing it with game releases as well....

All happy and the switch is the best console money can buy.

    Back to gaming news then....

Is the Xbox one x just an upgrade or a new console? Seen a YouTube video skating Xbox for saying it was a new console...

    Thoughts guys

It's what the PS4 Pro is, to the normal PS4. Ie, not a new console.

3 of Bethesdas top titles. So that is clearly a publisher supporting the system.

Skyrim is a bang average game imo. Nothing to get excited about. At least the other 2 are not developed by Bethesda.

Skyrim holds a 94% average on metacritic
    That's critically acclaimed

I think Skyrim is a bit of a Marmite game. I absolutely hate it and can't get into it at all.

It's a good game but once I hit the 30 hour mark I see the reasons why I never pick it up to pass an hour.
In 2017 it doesnt have the impact it had in 2011 especially without mods.
Even on portable as a Switch owner it's miles off Zelda or on consoles it's no Witcher 3.
In non Switch but kinda related news I am looking forward to Kingdom Come Deliverance in February though. Wanted a non fantasy medieval rpg like that for a while.

I really like the look of Fire Emblem so will probably pick that up with Zelda.

I'm looking forward to playing ReCore and Rise Of The Tomb Raider on the X with the updates. And going to play Last of Us on PlayStation for the first time.

I really really love my PS2...
Let's not drag it into the row!

I was playing the PS2 at Omnicon at the weekend. There were kids who couldn't figure out how to change the disk, felt like an old eejit but was worth it when I got to play Burnout 3 and Tony Hawk's, blast to the past.

Critics get it wrong, see BioShock infinite at 94% also.

Something for the kids and their grandparents to finally have in common! :pac:

    They sure do.

http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii/the-legend-of-zelda-skyward-sword 93% :pac: :pac: :pac: Worst Zelda ever. Actually, the only blemish on an otherwise near perfect series. I shouldn't have to throw in the disclaimer that the Philips CD-i games don't count.

It's personal preference that you don't like Skyrim, that's fine.

That doesn't change the fact it's critically acclaimed and is one of Bethesdas biggest games.
And it's coming to the Switch.

Am I the only one around here who actually likes Bioshock Infinite?

Sorry to say Sligeach, but I liked Skyward Sword. :) But I was one of the people that had nothing against the motion controls. Though could've done with a lot less Fi.

Anyway, yes I'm a Nintendo fan with a Switch. I also have a PS4 and PC. But since I'm not someone who plays games on a daily or even weekly basis, there's enough on each to keep me going a long time as well as backlog on previous systems.

Looking forward to Mario. Must play Old Blood before I get Wolfenstein 2 and even though I have as far as 3, I've only played the first Assassin's Creed. So Mario will be the only of those 3 I get on Friday. Though Stranger Things may get watched before playing. :D

I keep forgetting the XBox One X is coming out. Maybe I'm just not on the places that would talk about it but just hear very little about it.
Is it going to have issues with the fact that all games have to work on the standard XBone? Or is it simply a case of the game having a built in condition of "If console = XBox One X then 4K && 120FPS"? :)

I really liked a lot of stuff about that game, the visuals and the story were great, though the gameplay was a tad stale and opportunities missed in terms of using reality tears.
The DLC really added to the base game too, again much more to the narrative that I think would actually make the basis for a pretty good book.

I have a stupidly big game collection for my PS2, close to 200 games, and it's all killer, no filler too, just a cracking system.
I haven't bought for it in a while though, last game I think was earlier this year Assault Suits Valken, an enhanced version of the SNES game Cybernator from Konami, the title being the original Super Famicom title in Japan.

I can't work up a head of steam for either of the mid gen refreshes from either Sony or MS, all that investment to play the same games again, albeit more impressive looking?
I haven't got a 4k set and not likely to soon, so I'll wait until they come down in price, my XBox One and PS4 are working just fine as it is.

Just wondering, is there a site that states when review embargos are up? I know most games these days are day before or day of, but with the 3 games out this Friday it's strange none have more than a couple early reviews.
