New Install cctv.

Hi guys can anyone recommend a good value 4 channel cctv system, I have cables and 1 psu(power supply unit) x 4gang.. All I really need is 4xCamera and 1Tb DVR. I spoke to a guy in the know he recommends Hikvision and also he mentioned turbo!?Also I would like to be able to install app on my phone to view live..
Irish seller would be great but not necessary.

ps:I have a budget of at least €250.. But I can add to that if you feel I really need to.

You may be able to do it for that budget with old kit.

Cheapest you will get a hikvision 3mp ip camera is €50 or more, a POE switch is going to be another €50 and a NVR (with disks in it) is going to be >€200.

Warning about using hikvision nvr's, they have a reputation for being easily hacked, so keep that and the cameras on a network segment with no internet access.

Have you bought from Aliexpress? was the gear ok?

Yeah it was fine, you need to be careful with some gear because it can come with Chinese firmware etc, make sure things like cameras say English or multi language firmware.

The last camera I bought from AliExpress actually was posted from London and I had it 3 days later. That's probably the biggest issue with AliExpress, delivery by China post/Hong Kong post takes up to a month, but using DHL or similar will mean caught for vat and charges.

Overall, choose a seller with a lot of sales, if you are in no rush use China post to avoid charges here, remember if it does not arrive AliExpress themselves will cover you. Problem is that if it fails after 6 months your chances of them honouring a guarantee are low. Also support will be iffy at best.
