Are soaps suitable for children?

I post a little bit on the soaps threads and would be a regularly watcher. I probably started when I was a kid. I always loved the soaps. Nothing never really scared me/bothered me/etc.
I do notice sometimes tough if a dodgy scene airs some people get up in arms about it not being suitable for their kids/etc but they don't bat an eye lid to the affairs/casual sex/consent drinking/etc.
I've no issues with kids watching soaps once they've a bit of cop on.
Do you think soaps are suitable for kids?

Depends on the individual child I suppose and if they have known allergies.

Sometimes they have scenes that shouldn't be shown before the watershed.
