Not far off it, that's why I want to drive the 1.2 petrol as it won't be doing huge milage also have a car that qualifies for the scrappage, if the 1.2 would do it'd be around 31,500 before dealer discount if there is any.

Wasn't aware of any scrapoage deals.

5008 isn’t listed but they said I could avail of it, going since sept 2016 he reckoned it’s staying in place.

After seeing you can remove the 3rd row of seats and slide the middle row up it’s got me thinking the Peugeot is the only real option if I don’t want a minivan like a galaxy etc.

Bang on. I was amazed how little is on offer for for families with more than two children, particularly where child seats are a necessity. I'd say most cars could be tweaked to fit three isofix across the back row with a little bit of thought and engineering. Marqes are really missing a trick here.

Was this in Dublin...mind me asking which dealer?

No way. They cannot keep up with the orders for 3008/5008 as it is now, they don't really need another incentive to boost the sales. Maybe next year...

That being said, the dealer might discount the car heavily on their own discretion.

Better not say as just got my quote but not dublin...The GT line in the 1.2 petrol seems to be making more sense now than a specced up Active with leather and 1.6 diesel, it's working out 1k more expensive than the GT line with the half leather.
If you fast forward here to 3minutes he talks about the 150bhp diesel and 1.2bhp petrol after driving both. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e6kl5yD04w

Looking at the spec sheet the opening panoramic roof is standard on the GT line,Led Lights and a load more extras. Seem to be the one to go for.

Everyone I talked to was just get a galaxy etc you've no other choice, I'm not sure many people have copped on to this car yet. They need an incentive to get the feet in the door.

Enough to push the deliveries months ahead.

True, but once PSA has figured out the production bottlenecks and have some spare production capacity. As it is, PSA is selling everything they are able to make.

GT Line 1.2 in Manual is it?

GT Line for my money looks a lot better too..

Yea seems to be the top pick, drove the manual and it was nice and smooth to shift.
With the war in diesel god only knows what will happen that 2.0d even the 1.6 in 3 or 5 years come resell time, there might be savage tax on them. As one of the reviewers said the smart money is on the 1.2 petrol at a combined 55mpg it's hard to pick the diesel.

I drove it too and really liked it. I drove it in the Auto, shame its not available in the GT-Line Auto.
I would point out though, depending on driving don't be surprised if you get sub 40mpg!

    It was the 1.6 diesel I drove they didn't have a 1.2 there in the 3008 or 5008. I'm estimating it'll do about 15k a year.

The 1.2 is smashing to drive, you wont be disappointed!

it's a real shame you can't get the auto in the 1.2.....

I'm probably going to move up to the 1.6 Petrol. But I'm afraid what that will do to the MPG.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,160 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

The diesel sounded nothing like this under acceleration, seemed noticeable slower as well.

    1.2 petrol

I don't know, but if its mixed driving and not just town driving I would imagine they will be very similar. There are threads on the UK Peugeot Forums and there are a fair few claiming in excess of 40mpg and one person claiming 46mpg (but clearly states he's getting this on ideal road conditions).
Advantages are you are getting a quicker car obviously but paying €1800 odd more on the list price.
Grogi (poster on Boards) mentions the engine has an unsavoury history, but Peugeot Ireland is offering a 5 year warranty so personally speaking I wouldn't let that bother me too much.
You could also stick on your optimistic cap, and on re-sale Im guessing you will have a rare enough car and that could potentially stand to you. If I were doing sub 20K I'd think I would defo stick with the 1.6 petrol if the 1.2 was unavailable.

Looking at UK specs there is a 1.5d 130bhp which is over 1k cheaper than 1.6d. Any mention of this an option in ireland in 2018?

Where do you see it, not on the price list from Peugeot UK, the dealer did mention it yesterday though. Probably a good few 1.6d sitting in the compound in dublin, probably won’t release it until that stock is cleared.

Found it on the French website it’s €500 more than the 1.6d

    1,5L BLUEHDI 130 S&S BVM6
    A partir de 37.550 €

    TOTAL ÉMISSIONS DE CO2
    (G/KM) 109
    CLASSE ÉNERGÉTIQUE B

That’s the price of it in the GT line.

That price list/spec has been amended from 2 weeks ago. Looks like it's removed and prices adjusted. I can't keep up with all the changes

It's 1300 cheaper for the 1.5d instead of the 1.6d in the german price list(both manual), in fairness to the the germans they have the extras prices listed but they don't get a GT line :confused:http://media.peugeot.de/file/76/9/preisliste-suv-peugeot-5008-01.10.2017.317769.pdf#_ga=2.30843193.700003456.1508443596-1085002001.1508443596

On the spanish website the 1.5d is 1900 more expensive than the 1.2 petrol, the 1.6d is 1400 more than than the 1.5d but the 1.6 is automatic. The 2.0d is the same price as the 1.6d but it's manual.

As my 2yr old says, daddy its a mess. :)

That engine sound is probably with the sports button turned on. It "enhances" the sound through the speaker. Also remember that adaptive cruise control is not an option on the 1.2, if you are looking for it.

Is has ordinary cruises control though? That’ll do me.

Best not look at other Country websites, a lot of it will depress you. Remember VRT is added to everything, even the windscreen wash in Ireland.
I suppose one of the biggest disappointments is you cant really configure the car that well here. In Spain for example you can configure nearly everything and from their website. The full on GT starts at around 40K and comes with Alcantara not leather. Speaking of leather, in most other countries its a €1900 option, or €1600 if going for lower specs, but it doesn't include the auto adjustment seats and massage. We don't have that option at all, its all or nothing.
I don't know how they do things and come up what is deemed a desirable configuration, but in the end the UK and Ireland GT-Lines are a fair bit different. One thing I think the UK got right was making the Pan Roof an option and so bringing down the price a bit. I say this because it really is an issue for taller people in front and second row.

I was quoted €2k extra for the standard leather non stitched and €270 extra if I wanted matching leather door cards.
Think I’ll just go with the half leather that comes standard with the GT line unless the leather is a cheaper upgrade option on it.
Those prices were based on adding it to an Active.

Nothing new here, manufacturer releases new engine that's more expensive than current. I suppose they all do it!

1.5d like for like seems to be more expensive everywhere, manual v manual, even in the German PDF linked.

I think the Allure comes with the half leather as standard.

I assume this is not from the Manufacturer. I'm pretty sure its not.

I was quoted similar 2k ex vat for quilted and stitched nappa leather. Dealer will organise and wont affect warranty. Its not done by Peugeot though.

Why is this the case? Are there any plans to bring it to 1.2 version?

What you reckon or anyone have an opinion on these new 19" wheels 205/55/19 slimline tyres? I believe Renault use them. They look great, you still get a large profile, but less rubber width on the road.
