As always, we are getting screwed over here.
PEUGEOT Connect SOS and Assistance available by default.
    3D navigation, available by default.
few others smaller things as well

    Price... 8k less

No brainer then to order a new one from the North and pay the VRT. Even if it the same price, you win on the higher spec. It would also be no harm advising Peugeot Ireland here of your decision and why. AFAIK it is up to the Irish distributor to decide what is and is not included in the spec of each level of a car being sold in its market.

Edit: I see you have ordered already. That is very annoying and you are being 'punished' as an early adopter and advertiser for the brand. Can you cancel?

Unfortunately you have to pay VAT as well if you import it new, unless you keep it in the north and do 6000 kms first.. so it wouldn't really work much better.

Ah hang on now, we get a Pan Roof in the GT-Line, they don't :pac:

The person making the decisions must have been a 6 footer!

Just reading the Spec Sheet, in GT-Line UK don't get Keyless Open and Go or 360 Camera either

1.5 Diesel and EAT8 available immediately in the UK on some trims. One of the dealers did say to me to hang tough until 2nd week in October as he expects changes to Specs and Financing..

You are correct. Meeting on 12th Oct so worth speaking with dealers after this possibly

Also seen from UK prices that 1.5 diesel 130bhp is 1k cheaper roughly than 1.6 diesel 120bhp

There's a dealership annual conference or something. Our dealership told us any new goodies will be applied to our current order. If you already have an order in, I'd suggest you touch base with your dealership if anything comes up.

The only goodies I received after my order is a 600euro price increase :pac:

Don't worry, maybe they'll retrofit a new engine down in your local KwikFit

Does anyone know if you can order the

    Claudia Mistral leather seat trim
    (Optional Allure)

    ON the GT-Line.

I think im going to hold off on ordering ANY card from Puegeot until all the specs are sorted.

I'm still weighing up the option of picking up a 2nd hand XC90 instead ....... .....

The advantage of buying a second hand one is that you know exactly what spec you are buying...

Nah don't think so, stitching is a different colour. For me it's always been a case of wait and see..

It's mental money really 1900 pounds in the UK for leather trim 3660 euro here.. Thing is you cant order it without heating, memory and massage!

You should be able to get only leather. They are about 9 different SKUs when it's coming down to the seats, I would expect one of them would only be leather :D

I walked past the new 5008 on the way to test drive a 161 XC90. Had a quick glance in the boot the 2 back seats were up and I just dismissed the Peugeot on the tiny boot.

Onto the XC90 fab looking car but can’t fit 3 Isofix seats across the back nor will the buggy fit with the back seats up and they both raise together so you’ve basically got a monster truck you can’t fit anything in if you’ve 3 young kids.
The interior is beautiful but that giant touchscreen is a pain in the ass when your driving and smudges easily had to give it a clean before parking it back up.
After a good drive I was left unimpressed and went with the intention of buying it.

Tried an x5 7 seater today, again another monster truck with no room had to drop the 7th seat to get the buggy in, only 2 Isofix like the Volvo and no space if your going to have 3 child seats. Again all excited going off to buy a 2 yr old 100k Car for half price. Disappointed again at how unpractical it was.
If you put the 3.0d Bmw engine in the Volvo it would be some jeep.

I’m going to go back and look at the 5008 properly now as I don’t need a 7 seater I just need a decent back row of seats that can handle 3 young kids in Isofix seats with a huge boot. After seeing you can remove the 3rd row of seats and slide the middle row up it’s got me thinking the Peugeot is the only real option if I don’t want a minivan like a galaxy etc.

Depending on the age of your kids and amount of them the Volvo may be worth a look but if you’ve 3 young ones and want space it’s not going to work.

Volvo do integrated booster seats but only on the new v90 can you get the 2 outside ones. I think they’ve missed a trick, the integrated boosters won’t be on the 2018 xc60 or 90 either. You’ll struggle to find a used one with the family pack.

I’ve done a huge amount of searching and researching, this Peugeot seems to tick all the boxes. Now just to drive one, I know it won’t be as nice as the x5 but can’t be a whole lot wheezier than the Volvo it really needs a V6.

At that price range are you looking at the GT? Thing is there are none in the Country, so to get a feel for things and see the finish you should test drive a 3008 GT but look at the 5008 for practicality.
I believe Gowan Distributors have a 5008 GT Line to look at, someone like Bluebell motors might be able to get a loan of it for you to view. I'd ring and ask Bluebell.

I think also before driving you should wipe the x5 from memory somewhat, whilst I genuinely think the Peugeot is well finished it is still not comparable to a latest gen x5, although the Peugeot will have far more toys.

Have you considered a Ford S-Max? Less MPV-like than a Galaxy, but with a similar seat layout.

I went round in circles on this earlier this year too.
3 kids, don't really need a 7-seater, but wanted 3 proper seats across the middle. In the end I abandoned trying to find an SUV that fits the bill (although I was keeping an eye on the new 5008, I couldn't wait for it)

So if you're not fully committed to the SUV shape, the S-Max is a nice car with loads of room. And even with the occasional rear 2 seats up, there is a bit of space behind still for shopping - not sure if a buggy would fit though.

No I don’t need to spend that much, I drove the 1.6d Active this morning and it was fine they didn’t have a 1.2 petrol to try out in the 3008 or 5008, the active was for sale but didn’t have leather and that’s a must with the kids would have tried to do a deal on it otherwise.

Ok it hadn’t the power of the Bmw or Volvo but it was just as composed and more forgiving. It didn’t feel as big either but that’s a good thing.

The x5 was a real let down pratacilty wise and had lots of cheap nasty plastics. Pound for pound the Peugeot beats it senseless. Have a 530d so was expecting good things but it really was the worst of what I tried. I’ll be holding onto my own and changing mrs monkeys car.

Put 3 large Isofix seats across the back and it was no problem for the 5008. Going to spec one up at the dealers in a few weeks and see can we do a deal for a 2018, The active with leather and a few extras like chrome pack, privacy glass will do the job. Just need to decide on the engine.

Had thought of it but it’s still a minivan, 5008 ticks every box after spending an hour or so with it.

Make sure you drive a petrol one too (3008 will do too). I found the 1.6 diesel so and so, but both the 1.2 and 1.6 petrols were very nice to drive.

Will do, it was quite and smooth in fairness to it just felt like it could do with a little more pep.

If you don't mind me asking did you go down the PCP route and if so what discount / extras did you get?

I'm 110% behind the peugeot 5008, thinking white in GT-LINE but need to decide on the engine.

I was in the white today but they had a grey one with the chrome pack and privacy galas, it looked very smart.

Not convinced about the GT line your pushing way up the money and entering back into used XC90 land. It’s kinda taking the great value out of it.
I think the panaromic roof takes away from head height as well.

GT Line is 40k, it's a 2k Jump on the allure. Panoramic roof shouldn't be too much of an issue as kids will be only ones in car on a lo g journey.

Just wondering about engines now and where I can haggle too. Would be putting down 30% deposit not sure on PCP or HP for 5 years

Sorry I was looking at the price of the GT, the GT line is good value pity it doesn't have leather as standard. Dealer said leather is about 2k extra, 400 for the privacy glass and 700 for the chrome pack. Think the Allure with those extras will do us.
All down to engine now as well. He mentioned something about a new engine coming a 1.6d 150bhp or could have been 130?

Not far off it, that's why I want to drive the 1.2 petrol as it won't be doing huge milage also have a car that qualifies for the scrappage, if the 1.2 would do it'd be around 31,500 before dealer discount if there is any.
