Thinking of ordering a 'large'' winter coat, this one in particular https://www.zara.com/ie/en/woman/outerwear/parkas/long-anorak-with-belt-c500005p4617554.html I should be 'large' normally. I shouldn't ever really be an 'XL', so would I be safe ordering an L do others think ?. I'm tall and slim.
    Thanks
    S

I think L should be fine. I find Zara sizes in the smaller side of each size but I'd still be a M, but just a wee bit of a tighter fit than other shops.

No, I find L to be about a 14. I got that coat last year, it's def small fitting, very warm tho so you won't need many layers

Ah that's why I'm slow to order on-line from them. Very hard to be sure of 'the size'.

Free returns to store, could you order both?

Yes, I vary between M, L & XL....very often depends on the fabric & that's hard to judge online. If you get items delivered to store & try on in store it'll save you a trip.

I find Zara a bit all over the place with their fitting and tailoring. I'm size 10 or sometimes 12 and more often than not L in coats and jackets. But even when the size is right, the fit in the shoulders isn't great.

Their returns are very good. They collect themselves and refunds are very quick.

I personally find their sizes to be correct

Me too. I am a size 6 and find the XS a perfect fit. The odd time the xs dresses will actually be a little larger...closer to a size 8 I think. So I'd say they are true to size. If size 6 is XS, 8 is a S, 10 a medium and 12-14 a large maybe?

Went to their store today and was quite disappointed. Not a single winter coat that I liked the look of and that was what I really need. Might there be more in-store in a few weeks ?.

If you're a 16 then I'd say go for the XL coat. Zara's bigger sizes aren't very big, especially not for coats.

Edit: I think a lot of shops don't have that many winter coats in yet, noticed the same with boots. Maybe wait a few more weeks.

I have this coat and got a medium. I'm a 12-14 and it's fairly snug.

Recently I feel that Zara sizes are really under stated - as in I am a size 12 and am currently wearing an XL jumper just to have the sleeves cover my wrist watch. Another day then I would be swimming in a medium.
