Best Wifi Router / Swtich

Hi Guys,

Looking for a recommendation on a good wifi router / with 8 ports for office with developers.

One where i can install Open VPN - Pretty fast with AC compatibility?

I also need to be able to restrict ports / traffic due to work environment.

Any ideas?

Since it's an office you need something good, I recommend going with this very powerful Mikrotik router and adding a dual band 802.11AC access point for wireless somewhere central and close to your target audience. If your office is big you can add a second AP.

Both look pretty good and good reviews - i am charged with setting it up, a pretty experienced developer /dev ops with cloud but not lot's of hardware network experience.

The RB3011UiAS-RM seems more advanced on setup? would these take long to figure out?

It comes with a basic config script which adds all Lan ports to a switch, bridges wifi and enables Nat like any residential gateway router. You'll need to accept it on first login through their configuration utility Winbox. There's a wealth of info on guides on locking it down further on their wiki and you'll also get help on their forum

I have a house full of Mikrotik devices, they're amazing value and so configurable and powerful.

Thanks for that, i bought the switch.

I am looking at a small office router for another room which will extend from the main switch.

As funds are tights would something like this work and be good for a few developers ?
