Editing digital pics on a tablet?

I've picked up a digital camera. It takes a mini SD card. I have a macbook pro that I like using but it's getting old so I don't really want to push it off the cliff by overburdening it anymore.

I was thinking of using a dedicated tablet for editing my digital camera pics. Portability etc. is appealing to me for this.

Does anyone else use a tablet for editing?
Anything really important to look out for?
    Any recommendations for software?

If you are using an apple tablet Enlight is a very clever piece of software. IOS only though.

I use Adobe Lightroom on my iPhone for editing photos on the go I do believe it's free for IOS and Android. I got it as part of my Adobe creative cloud subscription but after a quick Google you don't need the subscription but I think you will need to create a Adobe account which is free.

A entry level surface tablet will run lightroom.

Plus you can attach a keyboard and it becomes a proper PC as they run a full version of windows OS.

Yeah eyes are boggled looking at stuff. I need a tablet that'll take an Sd card so that ipads off the menu.

Going to pic up a Levono Yoga and work it out from there.

I like using Aviary editor on my Android phone.

There is an adaptor that allows you to connect your SD card into your iPad and copy across photos. Its about €35

then use affinity photo on the iPad for editing. Its as close to photoshop as you will get and is a cracking piece of software that will allow you use layers etc similar to photoshop.

    I'm doing the same, Homer.

I'm still very much only finding my feet with regards to photo editing but Affinity seems to have it all.
