    Lol

Winging haymakers against somebody whose never fought doesn't make him suddenly legit.

He's fighting the same competition as Gallagher is to be fair...

Anybody going to Cage Warriors tonight?

I couldn't really turn it down for £20(standing seems weird but we'll see), no clue about any of the fighters though

Gallagher is fighting actual pro fighters at least. Trashcan pros, but guys training to fight professionally all the same.
The guy in the video above was 0-0 and could have been pulled out of the nearest pub for all we know.

That's an insult to seasoned pub-fighters Mellor.

He lost his last 4 amateur fights prior to fighting Chalmers. :pac:

I'm slightly surprised he even had a ammy fight. But a guy losing 4 on the trot has no business going pro.

    Check out @btsportufc’;s Tweet:

And to think I was there for the whole card but had to leave just before that fight

Still it was an excellent night and an absolute steal at £20

Scott Askham v Luke Barnatt at ACB in Sheffield this weekend should be a good one.

    Very difficult to call.

A good one how exactly? 2 of the most boring fighters you could come across ufc rejects.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,545 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Yeah that one really does nothing to whet the appetite.

It was actually a very good, entertaining fight. Striking battle from beginning to end.

I'll take your word for it,

One of my favourites Paul Daley v Lorenz Larkin tonight could be fireworks.

    Great KO.

Mad that his opponent apparently doesn't even have a coach? Wtf.

I know they must have the opposite of a talent finding scout but how do you find someone 7-3 who doesn't even have a coach. That's good work.

I absolutely hate Roy Nelson. Argh.

That was a good Bellator event, all pretty good fights and some great knockouts. Thought that was bizarre alright, your man just winging it without a coach of any kind....thought Roy Nelson did OK though the other guy was terrible on the ground, says a lot when Nelson goes to the ground for the entire fight.

He was on fight by fight contracts.

It says in the article he had a 5 fight deal with the UFC.

Jesus that's ridiculous. I'd say they cut him after he got knocked out by the planet so.

The most undeserving multi-fight contract that ever there was.

Bellator champ within a year....wait and see! :P

Most UFC's contracts are like that. They could be for a 3 or 5 etc fight deal, however the UFC holds the right to terminate the contracts early, which they tend to do after losses, bad performance or other issues outside of the ring.

This means that if you are winning they only pay your contracted amount for the 5 fights or duration of the contract and then renegotiate or not renew, however they can also cut you at anytime particularly after a loss.
