Yeah no more trailers for me, too much in that one.

    Ford or Gosling?

Well, both to be honest, it's like the producers asked themselves, 'who could possibly replicate Ford's flat, monotone, bored somewhat disinterested performance from the first film?', of course once the question was asked the answer became immediately obvious!

i like gosling when he's in 100% serious mode so he's perfect for this

I thin Gosling will be perfect for the film. I don't think hes as wooden as people suggest, but he will fit right in with the tone of the movie.

After all these years, after finally coaxing Harrison Ford back to play Deckard again, they go and kit him out in a cheap grey T shirt. Unless of course retired Blade Runners normally shop in Pennies.

I have no interest in seeing this film despite Blade Runner being one of my favourite films (actually that's why!) I was intrigued that the TV spots are already running with nearly 6 weeks until release. Is that a good or a bad sign I asked myself.

Seeing Katy Perry in the trailer reminds me of Rhianna in valerian. I'm still having remorseful thoughts covering wasting my 2 hrs of my life on that movie.

Katy Perry? Not sure what trailer you watched, are you sure it wasn't a fever dream 😉

I have zero faith in this being any good so I'm not going to bother. The whole showcasing of Harrison Ford on the posters and all that is very amusing to me. In my eye's, it wasn't Ford's character in 'Blade Runner' that I resonated with or had any empathy towards whatsoever in that film. It was Rutger Hauer what made the original film so good. The villain but at the same time the actual real protagonist in that world. That's what makes 'Blade Runner' so good IMO. I doubt this thing will have any sort of intelligent character design and portrayal like that of 'Roy Batty'.

    https://411mania.com/movies/run-time-revealed-blade-runner-2049/
Variety reports that Blade Runner 2049 will have a running time of two hours and 32 minutes, along with eleven minutes of credits. That makes it 46 minutes longer than the 1982 film, which ran at an hour and 57 minutes.

Obviously he's best known to audiences from GoTG (wrestling fans notwithstanding), but Dave Bautista really should be in more things - and not just action stuff. He always looks to have a good expressive range, here included.

Jaysus, Blade Runner is a bogey for soundtracks. First Vangelis and now this. It's cursed.

Saw the original last night. I'd thought I'd watched it plenty of times but no, it seems I only watched it once, when I was a teenager in the 80s. Damn, that narration by Deckard stood out like an itchy boil.

Still, I'm ready for the next installment now.

You watched the theatrical release , watch the directors cut or the final version , narration was taken out

The final version seems to be the one Ridley scott considers the best version as he had full artistic control

1982 Original workprint (failed in audience tests, not released):

    no voice over
    no happy ending
    no unicorn dream

    1982 US theatrical release:
    voice overs
happy ending (Deckard and Rachel drive through the countryside)
    no unicorn dream
    1982 International release:
    more violence in certain scenes

1992 Director's Cut (not done by Scott, but approved by him):
    no voice overs
no happy ending (Deckard and Rachel just leave Deckard's flat)
unicorn dream (suggesting that Deckard could be a replicant)

2007 Final Cut (Scott's final version):
same content as Director's Cut. Plus new scene Deckard at piano and outside club.
    many technical improvements
